Hey gaming buddies!
Since we’ve been at this for decades and we’re all getting a bit older (which, unfortunately or fortunately, comes with more responsibilities), and now that we’re a little more mature and productive members of this vile consumer society, I thought I’d start this thread to basically find out: what the hell do you guys do with your money? And more specifically, where do you invest it or what’s your overall philosophy about it?
It’s something that, at least where I live (Chile), nobody ever properly teaches you — not in school, not at university. Talking with some German friends, I realized it’s the same over there. No real financial education.
So yeah, this could be a place to ask questions, drop useful links, share your gut feelings, or talk about how to make the cost of living a bit more bearable… knowing that maybe, just maybe, there are better options out there than term deposits or straight-up gambling at the casino.
What do you think? How do you handle your money?

my rulebook
1 money i dont spend is money i dont have to earn
2 always change every 2 years providers of EVERYthing, new customers get all the bonusses
3 try to never buy new unless new is max 50 percent more expensive and its market tested
i just stick to normal banks with 2-3 banks that give me my 2-3 percent interest using their shitty deposit 500 a month in this promoted savings bank account. i just dont trust this fully cooked stock market at all anymore. might buy some diversified excluding top 20 snp 500 stocks after the inevitable correction
did look at some properties. but having to wait 25 years till i get my money back in rent including most costs n taxes ... heck i might be dead already then lol + who knows unexpected costs or a crazy renter who destroys my shit
yep im getting analized by this forced bullshit inflation but i wont be a bagholder

I am not going to go into personal financial advise, you can check reddit for that.
If you want to invest, simply buy into a global ETF with your available funds. Like A1JMDF or A1JX52. Just let it lie there, but your investment horizon for these shoule be 5+ years and also the windows for "withdrawing" your money should be wide, at least 3-5 as well. Otherwise you might need to get the money in a market dip.

Just do monthly purchases in a world ETF. Pick a low cost world ETF. Do some fun stuff with if you like. Most money is in new tech, but this is also the highest risk.
Don't go in the market all in now, it's very expensive atm. Give it 3-5 years to invest your money.
Although this likely will cost you money, there is also a chance stocks are lower in 3-4 years from now, you'll probably talk yourself out of the game then.
Also it's wise to get rid of your peso's in the meantime cause it's losing money. I would split it among 4-5 money funds (dollar, euro, pounsd, Swiss Franc, Yen perhaps). Perhaps gold, is an option without capital gain tax. (also, don't go allin now with gold, it's expensive as F)
And most important: stick to the plan. Don't give a fuck about what the markets are doing. Do your monthly purchases every month. Never sell unless you need the money.
