With “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” James Cameron takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family. The film, which has a screenplay by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and a story by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver & Josh Friedman & Shane Salerno, also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass and Kate Winslet.
i am thinking these movies has lost their flavor. it just looks like an good looking 2024-2025 game at this point, and i rather play a game, it's not like the story or characters will blow me away anyways.
am i wrong? doesnt those screens just look like they're from a game?
started watching the second movie, all while also testing out the Avatar game. I must say the game looks amazing, almost as good as the movie when it comes to the nature. The movie is not very impressive looking, for a movie. The game is impressive because its a game and it has almost movie quality-like nature, lighting.
was going to see it today, then i looked at the run-time: 3h 17m. Not so sure now..
why not release that as an extended instead, make a tighter movie for the theatres = better reviews, a bit less complaining about "its just visuals, no story, its drawn out".
I really believe this draws less people than more. I have no issues watching it at home, i can split it into 3 viewings.
I saw it. It's not really a good movie. It's not a terrible one either. It's just is what it is, like all the others. Such a fantastic planet and they don't do anything fun with it. The story rushes into a new conflict and that's the loop it's stuck with and everything is dragged out for retarded reasons. Same fucking villains (well one of them) and stupid melodrama conflicts. I'd be ashamed if this was my creation. Trope galore
Saw it in cinema yesterday. This is basically the same as the second movie, which was basically a rehash of the first movie. Only here it's even more blatant. Everything is the same, up to the final battle.
I saw it in high refresh rate (HFR), which could have been great, IF IT HAD BEEN THE WHOLE FUCKING MOVIE. Instead it's on selected shots, something like 50% maybe. Basically "talking" sections are in 24fps, while action is in 48fps. That already is bad, but then they change the framerate between individual shots in a single scene. There were instances where it alternated between hfr and normal fr every 2 seconds or so.
Super distracting shit, and with that I don't know who this is for. Many (especially older) people don't notice HFR, so it's simply wasted effort with those. And with people who do notice, it pulls me out every time the framerate changes. At points I paid more attention to the framerate than the movie.

reminds me of resident evil 2 and beyond movies blurring shit during action scenes so u wouldnt see how shit or stupid it was. was the last movie i saw in cinema... fuck that shit
