Not like this will change anything for the franchise however - if anything, the next guy they put in charge will just further devolve it into the more casual realm.

You are trash
Why? People die every day - many in far more horrific and drawn out circumstances. - most due to no fault of their own (unlike here). Why should I feign sadness or show even a modicum of respect to some rich suit (that I never met) and that made his obscene wealth plunging the one hobby I love into the ground, all the while endangering other motorists (and ultimately killing his passenger) just so he could feed his bad boy complex?
A franchise is far more than the sum of its parts, and CERTAINLY more than some head asshole at the top who takes all the credit for everyone else's work.

They're simply way too mathematical, unnatural, soulless, cold, shite.
Stop overthinking it, man They're just multiplayer maps, some even based on real places, down to street details, etc.
Better to focus on the simple, important stuff, players have massively asked for bigger maps, EA/DICE have acknowledged, let's hope they deliver with the future content/seasons.
Speaking of maps, there's been some rumors that a future season will feature a Strike at Karkand theme, including that map and others that were included in that DLC back in BF3. Crossing fingers for Sharqi Peninsula in BF6
Many cool moments in MP games are tied to maps - specifically landmarks or specific places.
Behind the doors / shooting through doors on de_dust2, tower hiding / spamming nades in St. Quentin's Scar (BF1), small passage on de_inferno (CS) top of towers on Facing Worlds (UT), hill camping near capture point on Heavy Metal (BFBC2), etc. etc. etc.
These young fuckers today don't know what terrible shit they're digesting...
Maps have zero personality / uniqueness - they're just a sterile slaughterfield for consooming derps.
Only read the first quote tag but I already see the usual ocean wide, deep as a puddle comment by the nonsensical BE-Boy, a flat and dull impro-comedy character with weirdly off the rails-rants about almost anything that merely exists
@4treyu Personally speaking, I was thinking of getting BF6 back when it came out, but the launch and them taking ages to put even interesting maps in is just ugh.
Reddit is also full of memes with their AI generated garbage they used for stickers, assault rifle with two barrels etc. It's just so shameful and I'm quite sure they won't turn this one around at all, the COD like shooting, the complete turd that is hit reg and netcode...
Was almost ready to enjoy a shooter again but it was DOA

Currently the average quality of maps (there's 2 or 3 very solid ones) is the main problem, I can agree on that. I would then add that vehicles need some love and sniping needs some kind of nerf as they've made it way too easy in this game (DICE pls remove that sweet spot "feature").
Now, to be honest, by BF usual standards, hitreg and netcode for this game at release date, while they do clearly have room for improvement, are the best of the last 5 titles in the franchise at least, and that includes the beloved BF3 and BF4, people seem to have fortgotten that those games were pure cancer for quite some time after release, especially BF4
I can agree as well that the gameplay has become more COD friendly and I'm afraid that's not going to change, though still, this is the BF game with the slowest sprint speed of the whole franchise + there's nasty recoil in many of the best weapons which still makes it important to burst fire from a distance (as opposed to the beamy shooting from all distances in COD), though granted, bigger and more open maps are needed to have more of those situations where burst fire is goint to be necessary.
Anyways, in my personal view, this game effectively saved a dying franchise, but this is EA after all, and they can still majorly fuck up along the way (hopefully not).

@4treyu That must have been a few patches after I played though, because when I played in the first 1.5 weeks it was atrocious. You clearly had the advantage and they turned their back on you and you still died from 2 shots after they turned around and you already emptied a mag and it took weeks to even improve that...I disagree here. I never felt as cheated in a game as in this one, not BF3 not BF4, it was NEVER this bad. In the prior games people were simply better, faster, not this kind of jank where you SEE you get fucked over by the network in multiple instances.
Jump crouching is still awful from what I am seeing in the latest reddit posts, it's not solely sprint speed but having those mechanics in that are literally 1:1 COD, sure it was a tactic to get their playerbase, but ruins the fun for everyone that knows what made BF great.
Maps help but even a nostalgic return won't hide the shit that is underneath, I really want to like it but I can't in this state. Maybe in 2 years when everything is done.

There was a major patch with focus on 2 major gunplay bugs about 1 month after release, this video sums it up. Not sure if it's exactly what you're referring to.
People in the comments still wishing for better netcode and fairer encounters, so no not completely fixed as expected
That's right, as I said earlier, there's clearly room for improvement, most frequent thing I get (though much less frequently than on release day) is getting killed after taking cover behind a wall.
