It's been out for a while, but apparently there was no page yet, and the new DLC adds a new planet that offers the same amount of gameplay as the base game (I'm 20+ hours in and not yet done).

For me, this game is like crack Laughing Visual storytelling and rewarding exploration galore, and the way the world terraforms and changes, there are constantly new things opening up (like ice melting or trees growing giving access to new areas), and new features being introduced until well in the late game.
There are several planets to terraform too, that all have their unique features. And you get rockets to move (and trade) between them, so they're all connected as well. It's awesome Very Happy

The main difference with Subnautica is that there are no beasts/monsters to run away from. But the way the planet comes to life is truly an experience by itself. I think I might actually put it over Subnautica, even.

Is this still fun if you play it solo? Or is it only worth it if you're going to play it with friends?

I've never really cared for this type of game, but after giving The Last Caretaker a try and loving it, for whatever reason. I'm thinking of maybe trying more in the genre.

Take into account it's a secret idle game where you have to reach a set number to terraform a planet by building more and more items that sped up the counter. I had great time with the game to a point where I explored and greened most of the planet and just had to wait or busy work myself to reach the set number to beat the game.
Overall I recommend it but have in mind you can get in the game to a point it becomes a crawl because of the incrementally higher tresholds to beat.

Yes, that's the latest one with everything. I had a glitch with this release where the start menu didn't show up though, so I bought it with the current price reduction.

The progression in the late game is slow, yeah, but it also depends on how fast you want things to go yourself. The game has no building or resource limits, there's stackable multipliers and rockets that increases the output x10 with each, etc. Once you're "done" with it, it doesn't take long to get to fully terraformed.

I haven't reached that part yet, but before reaching 100% you get interplanetary rockets so you can already jump to another planet and start there, while everything on the original planet just continues running.

@kezmark I think multiplayer was added later. The map actually isn't that large and feels balanced for single player, so I'd definitely give it a try.

If you haven't played the base game, I'd recommend to start with that before Toxicity. It seems there's not a lot of water effects there, and that was one of the highlights for me in the original Smile
I also turned down the survival aspect (food & water meters dropping slower) to like 0.4 or 0.6, as this is only a thing in the early game so becomes just annoying later on, but that's a personal preference.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
