| Quote: | Rainbow Six Siege hacked as players receive billions in currency, Ubisoft confirms rollback and no bans
Rainbow Six Siege players are reporting a major ongoing exploit that has resulted in mass account bans and billions of R6 Credits being added to accounts unexpectedly.
The incident appears to be affecting live servers for Rainbow Six Siege, with players claiming their accounts were suddenly credited with huge amounts of in-game currency, Renown, Alpha Packs, and even exclusive cosmetic items they never unlocked.
At the same time, numerous accounts have been hit with random bans. Some players say these bans were later reversed, adding to confusion around what is actually happening on Ubisoft’s backend systems.
Players across PC and console have shared screenshots showing balances jumping into the billions for R6 Credits, Siege’s premium currency. Others claim they were banned shortly after logging in, even if they did not spend or interact with the newly added currency.
The post also claims that some accounts linked to streamers and possibly official Ubisoft profiles were affected, suggesting the issue is not limited to regular player accounts.
R6 Siege statement addresses bans and rollback
Ubisoft has since issued a more detailed update clarifying what players can expect as the situation is resolved.
In a post shared on X, the official Rainbow Six Siege account said no players will be banned for spending credits they received during the incident, confirming that a rollback of all transactions made after 11:00 AM UTC is currently underway.
The developer also stated that any ban messages players may have seen were not triggered by Ubisoft, noting that the ban ticker responsible for those alerts had been disabled in a previous update.
According to the post, an official R6 ShieldGuard ban wave did take place, but Ubisoft stressed that it is not connected to the currency exploit.
Siege and its in-game Marketplace were intentionally taken offline while teams work to stabilize systems and complete the rollback. Ubisoft added that its priority is ensuring players are able to access the game normally once services are restored.
The publisher has not yet provided a timeline for when servers will be fully back online, but said further updates will be shared as work continues.
Ubisoft responds to apparent Rainbow Six Siege hack
Ubisoft has now acknowledged the situation publicly.
“We’re aware of an incident currently affecting Rainbow Six Siege. Our teams are working on a resolution. We will share further updates once available.”
Around 30 minutes later, the game and marketplace was shut down intentionally by the developers to contain the impact of the breach.
The publisher has not confirmed the cause of the incident, nor whether affected bans or currency changes will be fully rolled back once the issue is resolved. It is also unclear whether players who logged in during the exploit window could face penalties once systems are stabilized.
For now, Siege players are being urged to wait for official confirmation before accessing the game, as the situation appears to be ongoing. |

Their data is being ransomed now. Hackers have past and future games’ code apparently. Might be released if they don’t pay.
MongoDB exploit I believe.
