Seems like a preoccupation to me, just from how prominently this is reflected in your posting these days. That shit is designed to pre occupy the mind.
You do you though, just don't let it take over your brain to the point you are thinking about it all the time.

I finished the game and it was pretty great. Some times it's too Resident Evil for its own good, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Completed my first playthrough of this earlier today. Took me 16 hours but I tried to find every file/explore everything.
I really enjoyed it. Leon and Grace's sections play very differently and you get a decent amount of time as each character. I like that they have different HUDs, with Grace having the classic RE inventory/health system and Leon having his RE 4 attaché case style.
I think Capcom have actually managed to appeal to both play styles and strike a decent balance. Something I was not expecting.

The game doesn't have many unlocks for new playthroughs or a skirmish mode. This sucks for replayability.

I've read in detail all the pros and cons of using a Hypervisor. It's not that dangerous but the hassle of setting it up and running the freaking game is just not worth it.
Maybe if I were younger and reckless, I would probably try the darn thing. Btw, yesterday I have discovered that Secure Boot in BIOS was disabled by default. Strange. |
One thing worth noting regardless of whether it "works": KIRIGIRI.dll calls NtSetSystemEnvironmentValueEx writing into the EFI_GLOBAL_VARIABLE_GUID namespace. Those are UEFI variables that survive reboots. Even if you uninstall the crack later, those writes stay on your system.
| Quote: | So I dug deeper into the KIRIGIRI.dll from that HV crack and found a persistent UEFI backdoor
Continuing from my earlier post about the spoof surface. Ran a proper static analysis on KIRIGIRI.dll and found something that changes the threat assessment significantly.
The UEFI variable name is roodkcaBdrauGifE
That's EfiGuardBackdoor written in reverse. Intentionally obfuscated so security tools scanning for known UEFI variable names won't flag it.
What it actually writes
NtSetSystemEnvironmentValueEx is called with attributes 7 which breaks down as:
EFI_VARIABLE_NON_VOLATILE (0x01) persists across reboots
EFI_VARIABLE_BOOTSERVICE_ACCESS (0x02) accessible during early boot
EFI_VARIABLE_RUNTIME_ACCESS (0x04) accessible at OS runtime
The value written is 32 bytes containing a 0xdeadc0de magic sentinel, the result of a raw SMBIOS query (SystemFirmwareTableInformation 0x67), and a Windows build version flag checked against 0x23f0 (build 9200, Win8+).
What this actually does
Before writing, KIRIGIRI also queries SystemSecureBootInformation (0xa5) to read the current Secure Boot state. It then writes the EfiGuard activation variable into EFI_GLOBAL_VARIABLE_GUID. EfiGuard reads this during the UEFI boot phase and reactivates itself, meaning Secure Boot bypass and DSE (Driver Signature Enforcement) disable happen before Windows even starts loading.
Why this matters
This isn't just a session-level spoof. This is persistence that survives reboots and survives a full Windows reinstall as long as your EFI partition isn't wiped. The reversed variable name is there specifically to avoid detection. If you installed this crack and then uninstalled the game, that variable is still sitting in your UEFI.
So to the person asking "is it sus" earlier: the hassle of setup is the least of your problems. |
Since people keep asking whether these HV cracks are clean or not, I ran a proper static analysis on KIRIGIRI.dll. Here is what the imports and disassembly actually show.
| Quote: | Flags that look suspicious but are explainable in context
VirtualAlloc(PAGE_EXECUTE_READWRITE, 128KB) is present. In isolation that screams shellcode staging, but here it is consistent with allocating hook trampolines for the inline CI.dll hooks the loader sets up.
NtUnmapViewOfSection is called with handle -1 meaning the current process only, not a remote process. Classic process hollowing uses a remote handle. This one is used to unmap and remap CI.dll sections for the DSE bypass.
CreateProcessW is there to launch the game executable.
No malicious patterns found
No network APIs whatsoever. No WinSock, no WinHTTP, no URLDownloadToFile, nothing. If this binary is phoning home or exfiltrating data it is not doing it through its own imports.
No keylogger or clipboard hooks. No SetWindowsHookEx, no GetAsyncKeyState.
No embedded PE or shellcode. Scanned the entire .data section for MZ headers and high-entropy regions, found neither. The .data entropy sits uniformly around 3.9 bits/byte which is structured config data, not packed or encrypted code.
No registry autorun persistence.
Why "nothing found" is not the same as "clean"
hyperhv.dll has a 380KB .rdata section that is perfectly legitimate entropy-wise but whose runtime behavior we cannot fully audit without actually running it. Code executing at Ring -1 can do anything it wants conditionally, meaning it could behave differently based on a timestamp, a specific machine fingerprint, or a flag set by whoever compiled it, and static analysis will never see that branch.
The supply chain problem is the bigger issue anyway. Even if this specific binary from MKDEV is clean, by the time it gets reuploaded three times across different sites nobody can guarantee the hyperhv.dll or SimpleSvm.sys in that archive is the original. Both are closed source. The two components that run deepest in your system are the ones you cannot audit.
So: no red flags in static analysis, but that is not a clean bill of health. |

Yes, worth the hassle ? I dont think so and i will refrain to runtime this stuff even first scans show there is nothing malicious - Not worth the hassle to set up a VM and play around. I got my infos that i needed and dont care for what it does.
I just provide Info for the Average joe.
If you still wanna try and be sure to get rid of it then here just to be sure.
| Quote: | How to fully remove a HV crack and undo the damage: a guide for people who already installed one
Uninstalling the game is not enough. Here is what actually needs to be cleaned up and in what order.
1. Remove the kernel drivers first (before rebooting)
Open an elevated command prompt and run:
sc stop SimpleSvm
sc delete SimpleSvm
sc stop hyperkd
sc delete hyperkd
Then manually delete the driver files from wherever the crack placed them. If you are not sure, check C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ for SimpleSvm.sys, hyperkd.sys and hyperlog.sys.
2. Undo the bcdedit changes
The NFO told you to run these commands during setup. Reverse all of them:
bcdedit /set testsigning off
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto
3. Re-enable security features in Windows
Go to Windows Security, open Device Security, and re-enable:
Memory integrity (HVCI) and Credential Guard under Core Isolation. These were disabled as a requirement for the crack to run and do not re-enable themselves.
4. Clean the EFI partition — this is the part most people miss
The UEFI variable roodkcaBdrauGifE (EfiGuardBackdoor reversed) was written into your firmware and survives a Windows reinstall. To remove it:
Open an elevated PowerShell and run:
[System.Runtime.InteropServices.RuntimeInformation]::IsOSPlatform([System.Runtime.InteropServices.OSPlatform]::Windows)
The proper way to delete UEFI variables requires a tool like efi-vardump or the EfiGuard removal utility if MKDEV provided one. Alternatively you can use a Linux live USB with:
efivar -d -n 8be4df61-93ca-11d2-aa0d-00e098032b8c-roodkcaBdrauGifE
The GUID 8be4df61-93ca-11d2-aa0d-00e098032b8c is EFI_GLOBAL_VARIABLE_GUID. Without removing this variable EfiGuard may still activate on next boot even after you deleted all the Windows-side files.
5. Re-enable Secure Boot in BIOS
Only do this after step 4, otherwise the existing EfiGuard variable will conflict. Go into your UEFI/BIOS settings and re-enable Secure Boot.
6. Verify
After rebooting, run msinfo32.exe and check that Secure Boot State shows On and BIOS Mode shows UEFI. In Windows Security verify that Memory Integrity is back on.
If Memory Integrity refuses to re-enable it usually means a driver is still registered. Run driverquery /fo list | findstr /i "hyper" to check for leftovers.
One final note
If you are not comfortable with any of these steps, the nuclear option is a full OS reinstall combined with a BIOS/UEFI reset to factory defaults. That wipes the EFI partition and resets all NVRAM variables including the backdoor one. It is the only method that gives you a guaranteed clean state. |
I stick to Ring 3 crackles, less hassle and i can observe what it does and what not.
| zekkere1 wrote: | | and what does it do exactly? i had mine secure boot disabled cuz afair bf beta wouldnt run without it lol |
Probably cause BF Beta had Ring -1 Anticheat, not confirmed but i think there was some scrutiny around that.

No prob, glad i could shed some light.
Also maybe we dont have to wait that long, that voices38 dude is on a denuvo spree and allready reached end of 2024 rlses, maybe in a couple months we can see a rls from him with a proper crackl.
Oh, and HV isnt a cracl, its a bypass/wrapper that spoofs, nothing crackl like in it.
