The previews are ok I think.
What did you expect, the second comming of jesus? This is the first single player game for them. It's never gonna be perfect or groundbreaking.
I'm still interested. But only because it's DRM free and I haven't played AAA games for a long time so perhaps this will be fine to pirate. Good game to pass the time waiting for death stranding 2 to drop in price.
It's going to sell really well i think, and it looks pretty good. Better than Dragons Dogma, Fall of Avalaon, or a PB game, or the many recent generic action RPG games in the genre with a female protagonist (smaller scope + shitty woke look to it).
Looks far higher budget, has far, far more hype from everywhere = will up sales a lot. Everyone is covering it, many channels are basically dedicated to mostly covering it now, certainly some are "paid actors" to do this. The usual shit.
The previews are positive too which will make more people pre-order, not less.
I don't think it will be the next Elden Ring or Zelda, just something better than a lot of other things recently released in this genre.
It doesn't come off as woke, has a male protagonist. There is absolutely a market and a longing for this amongst millions of gamers.

This is no fucking excuse, get real. If its their first game, scale it down. Don't overreach. You make a shite game by overreaching? Well, who but yourself do you have to blame when people complain?
Screw all the reviews. I'm buying it using some points I got to spend in a local shop. If I don't like it the game will end up on eBay. Not much to lose for me and it looks too promissing for me to skip

The issue here is that this game started off as an MMO (Black Desert 2 if you will...), and based on the previews, it shows. Some might like it, but I suppose most won't.
The economic system looks really cool and deep btw...
The one thing i really don't like is the Assassins Creed inspiration - the glitchy data structures shit. I think everyone thinks that's the worst part of AC, and for some reason they thought that was something the game should have?
"How many over-the-top mechanics borrowed from AAA games and Asian MMOs do you want in your game?"
"All of them!"
Well, their other game is an MMO, so it seems like they crammed all the different stuff you would be able to do as different classes in an MMO (mostly optionally, in addition to your main) into a SP game all on top of each other.

There we go, the normal utub cycle. First we had the bought shill hype videos, now we're getting the grifter contrarian "we need to talk about" videos. Like clockwork.
Looks like a generic mmpog (in a single player game).
No, rather it looks like how an MMO would like to be, but can't. Way higher world interactivity with destructible environments, actual NPC cycles, super deep combat systems, etc. Then it takes the parts from MMO's that many single player games just don't care about, like various mounts.
How it all comes together in the end? No idea. I do agree with the above video that of course we shouldn't base our entire opinion on the 6h previews.. typical obvious and rather boring take, but yeah.
Production values can push an avarage game to something that's quite enjoyable. Hogwarts is a good example.
There is a lot of stuff in the previews that shows a lot of attention to detail. So if the game is in a decent release state this is gonna be ok. It also doesn't hurt that AAA open world releases are rare these days, the bar isn't that high. At least for me, I'm fine with games that are flawed in some aspects as long as it's fun to play. 2026 influencers and community though ...
