https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-intel-join-microsoft-for-advanced-shader-delivery-confirmed-for-lunar-panther-lake-and-geforce-rtx-50
| Quote: | Intel and NVIDIA promote Advanced Shader Delivery
The other part of this collaboration is Advanced Shader Delivery, or ASD. This is Microsoft’s new way of handling shader compilation by sending precompiled shaders with the game download instead of doing more of that work at runtime. That could mean less stutter when launching a game for the first time or when entering a new area. Intel says ASD support is coming to Lunar Lake and Panther Lake, and NVIDIA says GeForce RTX support is planned for later this year. |
Given that Unreal Angina 5 titles have problems coming up with a list of all the shaders they come with, I have my doubts.

I thought the very point of gaming was to learn and overcome challenges. Now XBOX will play the game for you.
At this point, why not just watch YouTube playthroughs?

It will come to the point that if you use mods on your game, cheevos are disabled, ofc. But not if you use AI to play the game for you

To be fair, if it's only for answering questions, it's a good thing. I remember I spend too much time in Dragon's Dogma's wikia page reading where to find monsters that drop what I need for upgrades.

Oh, fair enough. Thought it was that rumored AI assistant that would play the game for you , which IIRC was already patented by both microsoft and sony.

Game Pass got a price cut?!
https://www.thegamebusiness.com/p/xbox-cuts-game-pass-ultimate-price
| Quote: | Xbox has reduced the price of Game Pass Ultimate by over 23%, from $29.99 to $22.99 a month.
It’s also reduced PC Game Pass from $16.49 to $13.99 a month.
As a result, future Call of Duty games won’t be included in either service when they launch. New Call of Duty titles will now arrive on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass around a year later. Existing Call of Duty games, including last year’s Black Ops 7, will remain available in the service. |
May the NFOrce be with you always.

"Xbox mode", previously known as "Full Screen 'Experience'", was first introduced for handhelds, where you really need a controller-based interface and performance. It failed in both. It's tiny text, so hard to read on a handheld, and supposed to kill background services not needed for games, but Winslop is still 6-8GB with nothing else running but FS"E". It's an Explorer replacement, basically.
Now they intend this "Xbox" "mode" to replace both next gen Xbox console interface and offer the same "experience" on PC. Embarrassing, as Xbox UI has been OK for the most part (not as sleek as older UI, but still); why couldn't they port that as the "Xbox" "mode"?

Long as I can run games as I always have on it, as just the game itself. Don't see a need for it myself.
Sucks they did that. But maybe it's part of "You want the true Xbox on a TV experience while on PC? Here you go: One screen total!" haha

The need is when you connect the PC to your TV. You want to couch, not use mouse and keyburrrd. Or something like a handheld, with a tiny screen, so you can't even hit stuff with your finger.

Because my 5090 is hell of a lot faster than a PS5, and my OLED TV is a far superior screen than the one I have hooked to my PC currently.

Cool story bro. Tell that to all the people that game on their commute or between taking care of babies/children and can only game for a few minutes at a time. Meanwhile, handheld gaming is booming, be it modern handheld PCs, Switch 1 & 2 or retro handheld devices.

I didn't say it was wrong, or unusual.
Was pointing out why I'm the odd one out. Could not figure out why people would want a "PC gaming, but worse" mode in a PC game app.
Because I don't do any of them, and if I did, I would probably stick to a dedicated console for the TV, and like a steam deck and whatever it natively does in steam.
Why I asked, because someone had the answer I didn't.

Steam Deck is a very under-powered handheld PC (low end 2019 laptop hardware). There are better devices (that also cost more, but not that much). But SteamOS is supporting more and more of these Windows devices natively, and for others, you have Bazzite and CachyOS that to someone uneducated and/or doesn't care, offer the same experience basically. And on handheld, they offer a far better experience than any Winslop "experience".
You can install SteamOS, Bazzite, etc. on your PC as well, and get an ... OK "console" "experience", but nSlopia Linux drivers just aren't good enough. With AMD GPUs, they work much better.
