Max settings in 4K doesn’t matter. The game will run in 4K with the ps5 pro. This will probably run like any other aaa game with some tweaking.

Off course. But it's max settings and that doesn't matter. As with any game: they will have to ship this for the PS5 pro 4k (upscaled off course) at 60 fps. It will work with any decent rig.
The problem is that some people feel they can only enjoy a game max settings 4k with their 4070.
And even if this is some kind of benchmark title that can't be maxed out on any rig: shouldn't we welcome that? The last one was cyberpunk.

It depends if the "benchmarking" is due to lack of optimization. Alan Wake 2 runs like shit, but is hardly a "benchmark", other than demonstrating how retarded Remedy's coding team is. I'm not saying it's the case here.

this was with reference to every utuber and their moms praising the INSANE performance on this one..
besides that, most games run fairly well in max settings at 1080p even with a 4070 .. the problem is more shitty coding (ie. traversal stutters and general dumbfuckery in UE5)

I'm really curious about the reviews. I haven't felt this disconnected from a hype train in a long while.
To me, everything about this game screams "soulless offline-MMO AI slop" but the world around me sees something entirely different. Eager to see the scores.

I think pretty much everyone agrees that this will not be something which excels in story or characters? Its an open world action/adventure game with some RPG elements. Some parts will feel like zelda (without the soul of it), some parts will feel like the typical UBI soft open world type of game, some parts will feel MMO-like, various mounts etc. Then i bet some bad parts too, i do not expect interactivity like Skyrim, or NPCs who has homes etc.
Its nothing new that fantasy games like this just sells automagically. Dragons Dogma for example, it is not a game anyone bought for the story or characters or because it had a lot of "soul" yet it sold a decent amount, enough for them to make a second game.
I dont think this will be getting ratings in the 9s or 10s... not sure anyone is really expecting that.
The hype is graphics, doing cool shit in a big open world. Seems like a no-nonsense game and without the woke elements we have been getting. It will sell.

nope, woke means just that, woke, agenda driven extreme left-wing trash. huge difference.
No one would use "woke" for a game that isn't exactly that. 1348 Ex Voto is a recent example of typical woke shit, government funded propaganda. These games never sells and almost no one buys them because people are usually smart enough to see through it.

BG3 was also very 'woke' but still is widely regarded as one of the best games. Maybe that Ex Voto just a mediocre game, no? Again plenty of pointers that prove you wrong.
