Quickly turned to insults I see, well it actually is, not only here but in the usual places where Gaming is present, maybe you did not notice but I find it thrown around very often as empty phrase.
Well I can, Starfield as recent example, and yes I actually looked it up what you wrote, and no don't start with hair colours, even Black Desert, the prior game from these devs here has a colour slider I can find many others if I want to? But you won't acknowledge that either I assume?
The FOMO that drives people to pre-ordering games is one of the strange aspects of the human condition that I will never understand.
There might be different reasons:
1. You just know you will buy the game so why wait, maybe the will allow some to plan a monthly budget better (had the same with CP2077, never regretted that)
2. You just want to pre-load sooner so you can play as soon as you can. Not everyone has 1Gbit connection to download those 100GB games in 15 minutes
3. If you are buying disc version, you don't want to risk that discs will sold out (happened to me with E33, had to wait ~3 weeks for delivery)
4. Buying special/exclusive/collectors editions - this is self explanatory
It is not always FOMO, there might be valid reasons. so yeah, clearly your imagination is lacking.

Like i said woke is something else entirely. Having a well made game or movie with a interesting gay theme or gripping themes about racism has never, ever been an issue, for anyone. That is not what woke is at all.
That is not why people began to use the term woke, that somehow people got tired of well-written games or movies with these interesting themes. It would make no sense.
Woke is when you do something purely for propaganda reasons, when games and movies tries to lecture the viewer, talks down to him, and when its super on-the-nose and overly political. When it's added without it really making much sense (from story or character perspective) apart from "you are being lectured, you better listen to us, we have the superior view." or just virtue signaling.
That's when people started getting fed up because it was no longer about well written stories or great characters, it was just there for propaganda / virtue signaling. "woke" was coined.
It's not like these people are trying to hide this fact either. The Ex Voto devs (a game about a lesbian knight fighting dudes dressed as the KKK) directly attacked a similar indie medieval game for NOT being woke, for NOT using propaganda. Of course, Ex Voto does not do well while Knight's Path (the game they attacked) got 300,000 wishlists after they got attacked by these leftist lunatics (paid by a left leaning government to do a propaganda game).

I wonder how many games there are where they actually cared (takes 5-10 seconds) to look at pine tree instead of using the symbol of a pine as the reference the upper branches doesnt slope down lol... unless its a dying/sick tree. would be really weird if it worked like that. branches stretches towards the sun. BIG branches slopes down (due to weight) or go straight out (middle portion of a pine).
