veilguard: 9/10 on IGN and you're telling me it had nothing to do with IGN giving them brownie points, give me a fucking break.
You do know that the reviews are not written by "IGN" but by individual people, right?
You don't need reviews to see this game is designed as a rather generic theme park. The writing looks ok at best and the production value is all over the place. Comparing it to something like RDR2 is quite a stretch.
Not seeing any optimization magic here?
I get 30fps at 4k, dlss quality, maxed settings, Rt and ray reconstruction.
45-50fps at dlss performance
150fps with x4 framegen but you have to disable mouse acceleration because it feels awful
5080 | ps5 pro
Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
Well to be fair DS2 is still a niche type game with it's unique gameplay, Crimson Desert caused a huge hype when it was first revealed, not surprising tbh

The fuck did you expect. For a 5080 this is stellar performance considering the stuff this game renders. And for good order, this game does 60fps at your prefered settings with a 5090. So if you want that stuff: upgrade.
Just turn off ray construction. Or use a guide and disable some stuff that doesn't have an impact for some extra FPS. And don't 4k off course, you don't need that unless your projecting the game on your wall.
@vurt Straw grabbing intensifies, you're free to drool over the game but don't act like there's a huge agenda against the game, there's been reviews all over the place and youtubers that you probably watch that don't like this game while people you loathe are out there enjoying it, there's no secret government move here.
It's a hard to swallow pill vurt but no it's not dunking on the game for no reason or being 'apolitical' and if it was, why would I possibly say anything good about it? Or why aren't all journo reviews flat out negative?
Get some sunlight and chin up dude, who cares about Veilguard or what IGN says anymore, this is wild as fuck loool
"huge agenda", well, there are main stream sites who clearly prefers if games and movies are left leaning and lecturing, like IGN. Proven so many times that its not even funny.
Scoring, awards etc, of course it's affected. It's why it continues even though most people don't want it. If you believe woke is some type of conspiracy you are completely out of touch with reality dude. It's just coping because you know from which side this shit is coming from. Companies like Disney have admitted they do have an agenda, so if you believe these companies or sites are even hiding it you are completely delusional, they brag about it.
Welp, this ended up being a festering pile of overhyped shit.
- Mouse and keyboard controls, while remappable, are nigh unplayable. There are FOUR separate fucking bindings for Interact for fucks sake. Every other binding is hold this + hold this + then hit this. What kind of shit is that? Controller doesn't fair much better. Hold X to talk. Press X to talk. Press X to pickpocket. Really?
- Performance on a 5070ti, 64gb ddr5 6000, and a 9800x3d at 1440p was NOT amazing, despite what all the reviewers claimed. Once you turned on Ray+Path Tracing, that shit tanked, so DLSS and frame-gen are more or less required. Didn't look amazing for the horsepower required, even with all the bells and whistles on.
-Clunky combat with all flash but no weight behind any of the strikes, as is typical of almost all South Korean games.
-The protagonist is awful. The story is disjointed and more or less an afterthought
-Shit voice acting
I got this for free as a buddy picked it up in a 9800x3d promotion and didn't want it, but had I paid for it that shit it would have been refunded.
Utter fucking trash with no redeeming value to be had anywhere. Maybe I'm not the target market (Korean ubergamer or some shit), who knows?
@vurt Have you tried not giving a crap about IGN like everyone else here (in what seems like forever?) You know talking about left leaning and lecturing, just took a look, even resetera are disappointed with this game but not because of politics, shouldn't they be boycotting the 'apolitical' game for not clearly showing their colors enough?
Either way, if you're satisfied with the game, just play it? I'm sure it might become really good if they care enough, but I won't get it for full price if it's lacking in some parts. TW3 and RDR2 comparisions hurt this game more than anything and that's neither propaganda nor targeted, it's simply sensationalist gaming 'journalism'.
Once you turned on Ray+Path Tracing, that shit tanked
Duh .
If people play a ps4 like game that they can yank to 150 FPS maxed out:
Wow, perfomance is awesome .
If they play a game with insane draw distances and a shitload of stuff on screen that is designed to push modern hardware maxed out, but can't max it out with their not top tier hardware: booh, the the game is unoptimised

@KillerCrocker So don't max out settings. When you enable Ray Reconstruction in this game, it takes settings even above the max preset, so performance suffers even more. See here:
What a huge meh this game is. Awful controls, graphics is nothing special ( it looks like fox engine with implemented rt), pop ins everywhere, boring characters... My game isn't saving settings. I have to set them up every time I launch the game.
@tonizito Was meant for max' one button Ubi comment
But damn I hadn't looked at their controls yet, having a wide variety of attacks is cool but damn Former Tekken players might have a field day here though
About the game being a time sink.
As a plus, I like the idea that doing side content and just improving your character matters for beating the main quests but this is personal preference. But it's a shame it doesn't have 50 hours of quality content to beat the game and instead gives you 200 hours of mediocre gameplay.
