His company basically lost half their value during the last couple of months, RTX-sales are slow, they still sit on a shit-ton of GP104's due to the utter miscalculation of banking on mining (which is why it's possible to buy brand new 1060'ies (which originally used GP106-cores) with GDDR5X-support.

Hmm, what's the difference? LGA 1700 supported three generations. Sure, they were largely the same CPU with various improvements on subsequent generations.
That's precisely the difference. The promise now is not just the tock refreshes, but true generations as well. We'll see. There is no reason to trust Intel, but I think they are trying. Their latest mobile CPUs are good, and it seems they are getting their game on again for desktop and high-end desktop.
