In this DLC, players will be playing Skif through events that occur alongside Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. You'll be given in-game notifications via the PDA to access the DLC as the main storyline progresses, as such you may want to start a new save file ahead of the expansion's release.
Don't think I'm starting another playthrough of this anytime soon, though.

What? Why are they doing that? Starting with a new playthrough to play a DLC? Gah.

IMO pointless to play the game again until, at the very least, they upgrade UE5 to the mythical 5.5.4 version so the game not a stutterfest in the most heavily populated areas.
That and improving alife, and fixing whatever stupid systems they still have in place (can't take more than one sidequest at a time per area, 3 day cooldown until you can take another quest, no fast traveling, etc etc).

"Launching in line with Cost of Hope on August 20, GSC will also release the massive Update 2.0 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Alongside the upgrade to a new version of Unreal Engine 5, the update will bring a variety of new content and improvements. It will be available free of charge to all owners of the game."
Was hoping the engine update would happen, glad to see the team got it done.
Even on console the engine can be a bit rough (That CPU is starting to show its age.) and this is one of the early builds.
Even if it won't be to the newest-ish engine update this should still help, assuming the developers are up to the task and who knows how much custom stuff is in a game like this.
