ACS was not the best game but it was my fav (well almost the only one I liked) AC since like brotherhood... it was kinda good. Especially atmosphere and graphics.
This is black flag remake... a game that I laothed on release. Full of worst ubisoft trends at the time, tailing missions, 10 hours of tutrorials. It was just boring.
but the main issue is that graphics are not good enough for the remake. Doesn't look nearly as good as AC shadows

They can dress the game up for the fanciest party with all bells and whistles on; however, it is still AssCreed with its cookie-cutter Ubiworld, unrewarding combat, simplistic AI and repetitive formula. Not saying Yarr Flag isn't entertaining for a while (like it was ~12 years ago), but yeah, I honestly don't see myself ever soldiering through the whole thing again.
I agree. Never played the original. Revamped AI, combat and graphics + better underwater exploration etc, good enough for me to give it a shot.. Unless reviews points to total garbage.

If you have never played the game then for sure it's a no brainer, the pirate setting is pretty awesome.
ACIV is and was always my favourite AC game. It looks like an advanced remaster with some serious changes under the hood but it's apparently built from the ground up on a modern version of their engine. That's actually a good thing. We've seen remakes that barely resemble the original game.
I wonder if it plays like the original of if it will play like Valhalla. It's using the same version of the engine as AC: Valhalla. None of the AC games from Origins onwards feel anything like the previous games (which is why I hated them and gave up on AC). The original already looked pretty damn good for 2013 except for some goofy character face design.
@Frant Modern games are built to waste time with RPG nonsense mechanics. The combat is geared toward that. Here they claim to have recreated the action single player gameplay of the original. Weβll see.
I wanted to replay this AC for some time so this remaster might be good opportunity for me. But only if Ubisoft won't force logging is to their service like for every recent game. On PS5 you have to put your console to offline mode to skip login screen when loading the game, and I cannot be bothered with a bullshit like that so I will have to wait for people to confirm it before the purchase.
Game itself looks good, the price is a little bit high but I can deal with it (or wait 1 year for a significant price drop like with every Ubisoft game).

Though i kind of enjoyed Origins to some extent. But i would say the voice actor was just superb and that was mainly the draw i believe.
I looked at another video doing some comparisons and he explained some more stuff, the modern stuff (which i HATE) is now kept to a minimum and seems to be optional. I love that, he said that the original had quite a lot (more than in any other AC) of it and that it annoyed players so they scaled it back a lot and its almost entirely optional now.

yes, origins had a great main character, but black flag dosent have that
saw some combat comparison and while that is a great change i do hate that flash counter effect
but still not worth replaying this just for that, remaking this game dosent make sense except for a quick cash grab
I'm surprised nobody has commented yet about the awfully looking sea water (by today's standards, at least) , I mean it's just the single most present element in this kind of game
