Seems fair to me. Leaked game, not bought, launched and connected to their servers? They can do what the wish with those people, their right.
So they lost a possible customer? Their propagative.

I'm not against piracy. I do and did it all the time. I am just stating what I do is my choice, what they do about it is theirs.
I can be pro-piracy, and also think companies have the freedom to do as they wish against stolen code. If I pirated it, logged in, got HWID banned. I would not blame them, I would simply go: I took the risk, and got caught. Such is the roll of the dice I took knowing ahead of time what I was doing was not in good faith, or out of ignorance, and grumble it was unfair what they did because I didn't know better.

Well I will let you guys know how my experince went. I downloaded the game. I logged in on my Xbox app. Started the game then disconnected from the internet and logged out with a few seconds of the game starting. I restarted the game with the internet disconnected and Xbox app went into "offline mode" I played through the annoying movies and shitty music. It doesn't save to cloud and when I look in my Xbox app it shows no record of having played or launched. Been 2 days now and I have nothing happening in the Xbox app that says I am banned ....yet? LOL
Tried it, deleted it. It's reskinned Horizon 4 anyway. Same exact super wide roads as in Mexico and Scotland, just with a different filter over it. Same exact very forgiving driving model, and samey experience across different cards. If you want to drive a racing game with a proper Japanese mood, play JDM or Tokyo Xtreme Racer.
Via Reddit (in a now-deleted post), one person reports that his account was banned until the year 9999, specifically New Year's Day, so on January 1 in the year 10,000, he should be able to get back on the track and play Xbox and Forza Horizon 6 (though, of course, we don't know if backward compatibility will still be available by then).

If that's the only banned user they're posting everywhere, that guy cheated in online and even did so in Forza Horizon 5 with the same account, truly dumb
