|
 |
Alright guys, I'm having a weird issue that I'm not sure when it started. I have my TV connected as a second display as sometimes I game on the couch with my kids, but for some reason nvidia control panel no longer lists the correct resolutions for it under PC resolutions. It's a 4K display but NCP only lists it up to 1280x1024.
However under the Ultra HD HD SD section it does go up 4K but that's obviously got a 60hz cap.
Weirdly, If I unplug my main monitor it's lists resolutions and refresh rates as it should. This wasn't a problem a month or so ago when I played RE9. Strange.
Anyone got any ideas? I've DDU'd that didn't help. I'm at a complete loss on this one.

it has been acting weird for me on two displays today, my main computer and main screen suddenly only went up to 640x480, restarting the computer fixed it. On the other computer it has also been acting up a few times. I think it started after the latest win 11 update.
if nothing works you can try CRU to force it https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU

Worth checking for clues in Event Viewer as well, to see if some component is complaining about something,
My guess would be something is broken in the HDMI handshake.

I have looked into that already. I have googled it extensively and found other people with this issue from a couple of years back. I can't see anything pointing to it.
Mostly people were suggesting to disable DSR factors..which I have messed with in the past, but it didn't resolve the issue for me. I'm lost one this one.
EDIT: By the way this is a 5070ti.

Just thought I'd update this. This issue has resolved itself. I can only guess that this was an issue with nvidia's previous driver. Thankfully, I can game on the couch again above 60 FPS.
