i have no affiliation w the books but loved the original movie...
...this however, is like Brokeback Mountain Vampire Edition. I mean i don't have any problems with open homosexuality in media but 3 eps in this is more like a gay romance in a vampire setting than anything the original movie was.
It was nuanced in the books, and sometimes even explained that vampires could love each other with it having nothing to do with sexuality, genders, etc.
From what you're saying it sounds like here they went openly for the gay angle

I guess I should finally watch s02... I liked the first season despite some changes and race swapping.. the actress who played the girl though was horrendous..
