And you didn't understand what I asked in the first place. Nowhere in your results it says the exact current patch version for each game. They used to have pinned topic of patch discussion for each game on they forums, but now I can see only "2.5 beta patch" but it doesn't say for what, unless they unified the engine for all games and updating them all concurrently...

Sorry, i misunderstood you then.
I thought you meant which games Beamdog has released so far.

Did they start using a common codebase at some point? It says 2.3 but mentions a BG1 and BG2.

I think they've been working this way from the start. Their original intent, at least, was to use a single engine for every game so they could share improvements across every game. When they made BG2:EE they added a few new features that weren't in BG1:EE, but which they added when updating BG1:EE to a new version. It currently looks like they're testing patch 2.5 for BG1, BG2 and IWD at the same time.

Yeah, that's exactly the plan as far as I remember, the release shouldn't be too far away either (on paper, since one never knows Razz). Going by the latest GOG versions available at the moment, from what I can tell both BG1:EE and BG2:EE are 2.3.67.3_(10672), PST:EE is 3.1.3.0_(12417) whereas IWD:EE is still on ye old 1.4.0_(18275).

I read Beamdog's (previous) post on 2.6, they wrote that there were still many, many more bugs to fix but it's basically a small step in the right direction etc.. i might give it 2-3 years.

I am now in the middle of my 2nd playthrough of BG1.
I made some runs of BG2, but somehow BG1 was on the shelf.
Well... amazing game, I still remember a lot from my 1st playthrough, just after it's release.
But! I can't play it without LosslessScaling app. I've bought on last Steam sale and it''s framgen works like a charm. It really help with old animations. It really looks so much more smooth.

Any benefits of using frame generation over just setting the FPS in baldur.lua in EE, and baldur.ini in the OG editions Smile ?

Didn't try that, but I am always afraid of problem with game mechanic after changes like these.
Some games tend to have game mechnics tied to exact frame rate.
I also have wanted to check out LLS Wink

Another remake rumoured.

https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/a-baldurs-gate-2-remake-is-apparently-in-development-with-the-original-co-lead-designer-returning/

Quote:
Wizards of the Coast is returning to the Sword Coast, PC Gamer has learned. While Baldur's Gate 4 is inevitable, ahead of that it looks like we'll see the resurrection of BioWare's original games—specifically Baldur's Gate 2, though from what we've heard it's likely both games are getting the ol' remake treatment.

Everything is Divinity OS for them...

Want a Need for Speed remake?! Here, let Larian make one with turn-based driving, exhaust sex and forever sunny weather!

Screw it all! We need a proper BG3 and a first person Baldur's Gate 2 remake!

First person BG2. Rage

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Turn based makes sense though, it’s dnd. The only reason the original had real time combat was because of rts was the hype back then.

I completely agree. I love BG1 and BG2 and BG3 has nothing to do with it except for a few cameo's. Well, Jaheira was decent I'd say, but the gameplay, world and characters have nothing in common with the great BG2. Everything was over-the-top like their Original Sin games, they just merged in the BG setting....BG was about a big world with exploration. In 3, everything is connected in a single map. Crazy.
