Yesterday I received my Gigabyte MO27Q28G. After seeing this monitor was very positively reviewed on Hardware Unboxed/Monitors Unboxed I decided to give it a go as my first OLED experience. I have to say, I'm very impressed with it.
Now I just have to deal with worrying about burn in

There will be monitors with a newer generation of this panel starting to be released around April and a bit later glossy versions will follow. Higher brightness, significantly increased color volume. So better to wait a bit at this point in time. When the new ones come out, the older ones will also drop further in price.

Congrats!
Burn in should not be a big issue anymore as long as you let all the integrated anti-burn in routines and features run its course. (it's usually automated)

I also ended up getting this monitor.
I had to make a few adjustments on my panel to get the picture quality I wanted (took a few days of messing about a bit), but it's been great.
I don't think burn in will be an issue. I left all the OLED care settings at default. I set windows to turn off the monitor after 5 minutes of no activity. When I leave to go eat or for extended periods, I just turn it off manually, and after 15 minutes the pixel cleaning does its thing (only takes about 4 or 5 minutes).
Extremely pleased thus far, I just wish the price was $50 to $100 cheaper than it was. Kinda pricey to pay $650 for a display, but everything is batshit crazy now'a'days.
I had a Philips OLED earlier today. It was pretty solid, but ultimately I returned it because of the stupid VESA adapter that hinged on the integrity of a plastic clip with a spring attached to it. It's so terrible that people have taken to 3D printing replacement for theirs whenever they break: https://www.printables.com/model/1146888-philips-evnia-replacement-mount-clip
While I do notice it in very specific circumstances on desktop use (Steam, Discord, anything with a grey'ish skin), my unit is nowhere near that level. For gaming, as well as watching TV and movies - it's a non-issue. Neither is the VRR flicker, as I turn that shit off and don't use G-Sync. Just run it at native res at 280hz refresh.
I couldn't really afford to wait, regardless of what the situation may have been. Got a new system in September (the GTX 1080 couldn't cut it anymore - thank fuck I didn't wait until after all of this went to shit just 2 months later), and wanted to finally make the jump to 1440p after being on 1080p for over a decade and a half.
Is it the best monitor? Probably not. But it's the best I could afford at the time that checked most of my boxes (would have preferred it to be 32" 1440p rather than 27", but beggars can't be choosers unfortunately).
I’m on the same boat. I’m also bought a new system in December and waiting to upgrade my ancient 1440p monitor (from 2012 I think—it was excellent at the time, but showing its age). I think I prefer the QD OLED trade offs better than the WOLOLOLED ones. So I’m waiting for a 27” or 34” 4K to come with a better pixel arrangement (like the one in your 1440p 27”), as that will make text fully readable and without antialiasing issues.

Honestly, I don't see any banding at all. I opened discord up specifically just to check. Mine was pretty much good to go out of the box with only slight adjustments necessary.

On my end, it's probably mostly due to the fact that I changed my monitor gamma setting from 2.2 to 2.0. This makes spotting prone bush wookie campers in Battlefield quite a bit easier, as it brightens up those dark corners in buildings a bit. When I change it back to stock setting (2.2), the banding more or less goes away - but it's a little too dark for online shooters.
Interesting...
This would be the 1080p endgame monitor. The picture quality would be near-perfect - OLED, 1700 nits peak, 390 nits fullscreen, significant coverage of Rec.2020 and 540Hz.
Easy to play games on it at high framerates without having to mess with upscaling and frame generation.
On the other hand it is quite small and has lower pixel density than a higher res screen. Certainly worse for watching movies and general usage.
oh, that one will be a must buy for my arcade cabinet. i would really want 540hz. it currently has a 24.5" IPS screen, i think its like 240Hz or whatever it is.

What arcade cabinet do you have?

DIY one, it is running Retroarch.
But i also recently purchased the Evercade Alpha arcade machine, those are cool and for very little money. Small screen though.
Old image, i have made some updates since (new sticks, painted better)
Looking good! Ive got all the stuff prepared to build one myself (all the hardware) but have always way too many stuff going on. So i thought i might buy one instead. There seem to be quite a few places where you can buy them and get home delivery.
Do you have blueprints for the one in the picture? Perhaps You might convince me to build one myself instead
I think i have most rom's and plattforms on my nas, so I really just need to get the thumb out of my arse
