I wish Raven was doing another proper Soldier of Fortune game... Like 1 and 2. Specially like 1 which was the best amongst all. Dat first level in the subway, I'll always remember that.

Yeah, SoF1 was soooo awesome. Spraying enemies with bullets was super-satisfying.
Nowadays it's either some tacticool shooting with quick deaths like Call of Duty or bullet-spongy bullshit like Borderlands 2.
Also, how often do you see gibbing and excessive gore nowadays ?

After Doom 4 i'm even more excited for a new Quake, as i prefered those games always over Doom.

Didn't Carmack say something on how they wanted to go back to the sci-fi / fantasy type Quake of the first game and not the Strogg that came with Quake 2 and Quake 4 though that was a few years back when Doom 4 was that other Doom game which played like Call of Duty so it's probably been redesigned since.
(Same with Prey I guess, we'll see if they announce either of those two during E3 I suppose.)

it was ok. just like all raven software games. slow start, but it gets better and better.
the strogification levels were absolute gold though. one of the best moments in quake series overall.

I quite like Quake 4's SP. It was made right before CoD 2 (it released 1 week before it), so it didn't have any influence from the Xbox-360-era-CoD template despite actually having some vaguely similar elements (a squad of soldiers etc).
(Then again CoD2 was fantastic!)

Ironically, the game shared the similar Dr. Jekyll-Mr Hyde nature of the recently rebooted Doom (solid SP vs failed multiplayer -although Doom's campaign is head and shoulders above Q4's imo), which makes me wonder what will happen to the new one. Id, you're allowed to surprise us again!
Btw, as always with idTech4 games, the customizable Sikkmod really does miracles when it comes to visual enhancements, I replayed the campaign last year and a lot fun was had, you can't go wrong with the Ravenmen (rip) really. (my config in case anyone is interested)

I don't know if id can handle 2 games on their own because I think Bethesda will want to move forward with a Doom sequel (see the rumored Wolfenstein 2, The Evil Within 2, Dishonored 2, ..).
A Doom sequel could be ready in 1-2 years while a Quake game will obviously take more than that, unless it's in an advanced state, which is kind of doubtful since supposedly when Bethesda cancelled Rage 2 and rebooted Doom 4 they requested id work on only the Doom reboot, nothing else).
So if Quake (5) is happening I believe it will be outsourced to someone else at least partially (and I don't mean like Doom's MP, but more than that).
