I get it, but at the same time i don't. Not that i'm a watcher, but when i do watch what they say i expect to get the truth or the channel is as good as dead in my eyes. They live and breathe by their credibility and insight, if the perception becomes they say what the ones with the money tell them to say, it might become problematic down the line. Same as regular journalists.
I mean, just watch the shill video, then this. Both Wicawd and Owiver (the fat one) say completely different things than what they shilled in that video. I'll say it again: DLSS is supposed to be upscaler technology with antialiasing. What the fart does floppy-ai-sloppy-filter have to do with that? That's like Samsung selling a foot-bath thingy and calling it "Samsung Odyssey OLED G81SF S27FG810S".
As far as i see it, given that it ran on 2 5090's. One does the normal gpu tasks, the other runs a massive AI checkpoint model with likely a shitton of images and whatever that they've trained on. It's just ai slop. They will shrink this model for commercial use and it will look a lot worse because these things use a lot of vram. Forget it unless you have 20-30+ gb vram. Upper levels is emulator games with texture packs etc obviously, but we'll see if that's supported.
How worser can it look? It is already so bad. Everyone complained about the make up on the RE chick, but environments looked terrible. Made everything shiny, contrasty and same looking.
And of course, Todd Howtard is all over this shit, since they can't make one good looking game anymore.
Honestly, Starfield faces were good, but that is only because the default is so shit. Rest is just crap. And i agree, the lightning is a big offender. Just disgustingly ugly when you look at those overly bright and washed out forest looks, or city.
My 3070 died yesterday so I had to plop in my 2060 (just 6GB VRAM !!!!!! ).
Looked up the price of a standard 4070.... ~€1000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was manufactured BEFORE the whole AI/Rampocalypse shit begun. We're just being robbed by this point. I will NEVER pay €1000 for an old 4070. At most it should be maximum €400-500.

Looking at AMD they're not much better. Their prices are nearly as ridiculous, sometimes even worse. The 9060 XT 16GB isn't a huge deal faster than my old 3070 while still selling for ~€470-550. There's NO way I would get a card with anything less than 16GB.

Nvidia doesn't sell 4070 anymore directly. But they list it as $549.00 on the nvidia site.
So you are mad at the wrong people, in this case.

Yeah, but retailers are motivated by the same forces as nVidia or AMD. nVidia makes bucket loads of money from the same silicon that goes in the gaming hardware, and fab production is very limited compared to the demand, as are retailers that have a limited number of old hardware, but demand is through the roof. So no, not "Fuck Nvidia to hell", "Fuck an entire industry that is willing to pay nVidia so much more than gamers that it makes no economic sense to keep producing GPUs".
