One thing that they probably didn't get much credit for (game map is MAYUSSIVE and if you explore everything it will take you tons of time to finish the game), is the difference in story quests done in different locations on the same sub zone according to which side/faction you take.
I'm at Zaton right now and quite impressed by the difference (spark this playthrough, original was a ward chud mostly).
This:
https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/433
helps with the sprinting problem.

Quote:
STALKER 2’s Second DLC Will Be ‘Quite Different’ From Cost of Hope

STALKER 2 enjoyed a resurgence recently with the arrival of the 2.0 update and the Cost of Hope expansion, the game’s first major story DLC. That’s not the end of the road, of course, and another expansion is on the way.

Forgot to mention when an emission drops and you have to run for cover, epic Very Happy crowding together in some basement with bandits. Also fun if you're overweight and have to drop something.

Yea, that's a bit of a problem if you are a completionist / like to explore everything.

That's why I don't quite like the fast travel system they have now -- it demotivates me to explore every corner of the map.

Tested the weird pot, it does increase your max wight if you drink the Special edition non stop.

The interactive map is wrong, shows only 3, there are 10 in fact:

Tried playing it again and managed 5 hours or so. After finding myself in the lesser zone just hunting poi's i just "no, not again" this game will take forever and tbh.. It's not that interesting. There is no real hook as far as i can see.

Man, the Kora 1911 upgraded + silencer is all I need when fighting humans.

Stealth works + headshots count.

I tried this update as well. There are some core-mechanics that just make this game... Well boring.

The scale of how much you have to travel and the stamina system, just makes this a walking simulator. The gfx ARE nice, but nothing worth re-visiting or re-investing time into.

But the number one fucking thing they failed with is... funny enough... exploration. No matter where you go on the map. You will know that every lootbox has 2 sausages, one bread and a orange medkit. That will not change no matter what. There is no point in exploring to find anything. You will just run+drink redbull to your next marker on the map.

Every single (human) enemy you shoot, will have 2-3 bullets of ammo to loot and about 8 bullets if you empty their red broken gun - IF you are lucky. This is after you spend 2x that on the sponge to kill them.

The bloodsuckers STILL jump scare you and knock you down, loosing control and immersion. Its the same every single time. There is zero variety. Every. Single. Time. Its the same for every enemy in the entire game.

I wanted to like this so much. It would seem they cared only for nice graphics unfortunately.

More patches = more crashing, latest patch increased the crashing for me Sad
Have been having a lot of fun with an already upgraded shotgun found in a stash fairly early, the included magazine upgrade really makes the difference. Also found a yellow Integral SMG (Vector) really soon near a stash in the cement factory area and gave it a go, it really kicks ass.

God, A-Life 2.0 is just Laughing

It spawned two groups of factions who are at war with each other 10 feet from me with their backs turned to each other and neither was aware of the other.

When I'm done with the DLC I'm reinstalling GAMMA. Laughing

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I think it might be related to playing from a save previous to the big update, I started from scratch and no crashes whatsoever, and the game feels really optimized while also looking fantastic (helped by a great reshade preset with a bit of desaturation Very Happy).

Also, maybe I've been lucky so far, but after nearly 40 hours in I haven't had any NPCs pop up right in front of me though I suspect many have spawned at a relatively close distance behind me.

Yeah people should start a new game, many changes.

I've been playing G.A.M.M.A. (which includes the whole original trilogy areas... and more) for many hours during the last year, and still go So Much Win with this game when seeing all those areas reimagined and with some of it's original characters as well.

For instance (don't read if you haven't been to Zaton yet)...

They said that they addressed it (e.g. talked about it for hours), not that they fixed it Troll Face
Surprise mothafucka!
They did fix it, but it took a few days in game (quite a few, actually) but now the corpse fixing is fixed... but maybe too much: now you see corpses spawn from the air at a distance and flop down to the ground Laughing
Regarding all the crashing, turns out that there was some problem with the AMDerp driver that was upgraded inside their software center (big shock, right?); after running DDU and installing the driver from scratch it's much more stable.

Also these fucking sneaky devs, was only looking for ammo types comparison and this video spoils the location for a fairly early RAM-2 shotty, had already been to the place twice and didn't even think to just look behind the container:

I haven't experienced anything remotely similar to that, that sounds like the kind of visual bugs that CP2077 had at the time of release.

Did you start a new game after update 2.0 dropped?

Started a new game after 2.0.

60 hours in, no issues here with 1 rare exception: sometimes objects - trees, objects in environment, buildings - load slower around the player.

This has happened to me with buildings at a certain distance in front of me, walls look awful and then as I approach them suddenly the hd textures pop up.
