i think its fine, if the playthroughs are short. 10-20 hours. i'd replay a game if it was good and make different choices. I think it's a good idea but i dunno how well it's been executed.

Like, im never, ever gonna replay Witcher 3 since a playthrough is 120+ fuckin hours. Witcher 2 however, i'd replay no problem since each playthrough was short, and to get the full story, i had to re-make a choice in act 1 which would totally change how the rest of the game played out. I don't know why this system was abandoned, it was fantastic for RPGs.

Maybe they’ll patch out the directional combat or make it optional if it gets a lot of backlash.

I'm not that into the loop, but why is it a bad thing that i can control my strikes as the character? I always got annoyed as fuck when Geralt would randomly spin or pirouette in Witcher 2 and 3. Made it hard to predict my moves. If i'm in control of it, it seems like a good thing.

For timelimits: why are some devs still trying this shit. People have never liked this since Fallout 1. A large portion of players just do one playthrough and want to enjoy the game at their own pace. Let them.
And in this game it's even worse cause upgrading your character costs time. So yeah, do you want an extra quest, or do you want to get stronger.

In what universe is this fun??

And sure, you can mod it out, you can even ignore the time limit all together, but feels like cheating a bit. Just let players enjoy the game in their own pace.

Ah I heard someone finished the game in 3 hours.
It’s a tough fight but must be possible and roll credits? Laughing

Google AI response Very Happy

Quote:
Yes, the game ends early if you manage to defeat Brencis during the prologue of The Blood of Dawnwalker. While this fight at the end of the "Bad Blood" mission is structurally designed as a classic "supposed to lose" encounter, exceptionally skilled players can overcome the extreme disadvantage. If you successfully complete both phases of the fight, the campaign comes to an abrupt, early conclusion with an alternate cutscene and a unique secret ending.

What Happens If You Win?
Phase Two Trigger: Defeating him in his initial phase triggers an alternate cutscene and forces you into a brutal second boss phase where most of his attacks can one-shot you.

Campaign Cut-Off:
If you survive and defeat him completely, you trigger a secret early ending. The game cuts straight to the credits, entirely bypassing the 30-day open-world rescue mission in Vale Sangora.

Better Story Timer

Mod allows you to have as many days as you want for the story. You can also remove all trait time costs.

People use 90 days instead of 30.

I only managed to beat the first stage. You are teleported to some weird place and fight a different version of the same boss - which I guess is the endgame sequence. But I was dealing almost no damage to him.

Not every game is for everyone. If you can't turn off your OCD and embrace FOMO these kinds of mechanics are just not for you.

That being said...

The game reeks of fake choices. You spend daytime playing with the kids or doing other stuff like that which I doubt has any impact other than wasting your questing time.

Yeah, i think you're right.. from what i'm seeing, the devs used the timers to hide the fact that there is not that much to the game lol.

The artificial time constraints here are rather silly but I'm far more annoyed by rogue/reset/cycle mechanics, so the whole clock's ticking, fellow vampmen thing isn't really a deal-breaker for me. I'll definitely wait for a few patches before plunging into it, though, as is tradition.

The combat system is trash. The character gets stuck in the smallest object. Shit covers the view all the fucking time. The enemies have the reach of polearms and the momentum of daggers. The automatic lockin is the same garbage as in TW3.

Fuking controllers / consoles.

Also, auto-tagging enemies in combat sounds so shite...

Laughing he stopped playing it because it was occult and dark.

guess he never saw the 90s Copolla Dracula flick where Vlad the Impaler stabs a cross with his sword, blood gushing out of it and making a vow to basically become the antichrist.

Played it for some 4-5 hrs and time limit is core part of the game, not just one of the mechanics. Tampering with it completely changes the point of the game, which is i guess choice, consequences, sacrifice etc...

Will finish it for sure but so far not bad. Again, not so sure about skill learning = time passage, but will have to play more.

My main gripe is performance. Fucking Ungina 5. struggling for 60 fps with a 5090, are we for real here? And it legit looks a bit worse than witcher 3.

I don`t mind giving them my money, but they better improve for the next one.

Dunno men.

I kinda liked the combat.

And the game.

And I do LOVE the UI.

Waiting for performance fixes and qol patches.

Walking + exploring + witcher senses combo is utterly shite atm.

The ui is console garbage. You need to change menus between abilities and consumables. Nothing in this game seems to be designed for PC.

Aside of the art style, everything I experienced in this game is half assed.

Patches can't fix fundamentally bad design. Every developer thinks they can improve on Sekiro's formula, but they don't understand at all what made that combat close to perfection.

These developers didn't even understand the implications of their directional blocking. That's how we ended up with a combat where you have to stand still or risk not being able to block because you'll change the direction of your block by taking a step.

🧛 Vampire mechanics 🧛🧛

🧙 Occult/Christian themes: The reviewer found the game's religious and occult themes extremely dark and offensive toward Christianity, particularly its use of Christian imagery and concepts in vampire rituals. This became a major reason they stopped playing.

Laughing Laughing triggered. Holy water can burn/kill a vampire, so a weak ass priest can kill a vampire.
