The game is pretty atmospheric and the story is interesting enough to keep me going BUT I'm at Chapter 9 atm and tbh I'm getting really fed up with this
Spoiler:
monster.

It has really outstayed its welcome...
The game is basically a tomb raider with easy fights, a great setting and music, and an intriguing story.
To me this is that typical game that gets those 10/10, like the Josef Fares games (total SHIT imo).
Games very tailor-made for casual gamers. I have no idea why gaming journalists loves these games so much, but theres obviously a lot of corruption in this business, its why i dont take IGN etc seriously any more.
These games usually have good presentation and graphics though. But its like giving latest Jurassic Park movie 10/10. It's shit, Jim!
This is just a linear walking simulator, and as far as those are concerned, it's a good one. Actually, I think I enjoyed it more, than the Uncharted games ported to PC.
The numbers don't decide, the system is a lie. The river running dry, the wings of butterflies.

I gotta say, the first few chapters didn't impress me much, but when I got to the island and the terrible, mysterious, and tragic events started happening, I totally changed my mind.
The strength of the game lies not in its gameplay, which is rather simple, but in its setting itself, great design, fantastic music score, and captivating story.
At its core, the game is basically a mix of Tomb Raider (the new ones) and the previous Plague games. The combat is kinda simplistic, if not primitive, and is rather easy, tbh. Sophie has got just 6 skills, and each skill can be upgraded to one of two mastery levels, granting the skill new effects. As for the weapons, you have 9 blades, each with its own special ability. You find them when you explore the island's mysteries.
Along the way, you solve different puzzles involving light using your magic sphere and the upgrades you get as the story progresses.
Things that could have been done better:
- Very simple combat and ability tree.
- At some point in the game, you have to go through a bunch of repetitive encounters where you're being chased by an unkillable big bad monster, and after a while, it kinda gets old. However, it gets better toward the end, as you become more proactive during the encounters with the monster.
In short, if you want to experience a thrilling, dark, and tragic story (and you happen to like the Ancient Greece myths and legends) and you don't care much about combat, go for it.
Same, once you get to the island it becomes really fun. The sense of discovery, nice vistas and draw distance, huge setpieces and mechanical puzzles. Combat is more than serviceable, imo.
Simple puzzles that never get old is a good way to phrase it
The trinkets you find throughout that visually add to your character's costume is a nice detail too. I'm a sucker for such stuff
