But Link does not look good in the “new” Zelda. People are exepected to pay 80 bucks for that remake. Off course people are critical.

That said, pc gamers can be spoiled. I can’t max out my game with my 5 year old rig LOL

I’m looking foreward to people complain that their game runs like shit with a dlls5 mod with a 3070 blaiming the devs for poor optimisation Laughing

I am never hearing the arguments though, people are quick to say "they don't like" something, but when it comes to the arguments its vague or something too broad and generic that could be applied to anything in games. Or they cherry pick something bad, 1 thing, and that means the whole game is bad, it could be something like a texture. lol. give me a break. no game is that perfect. The constant bickering has never been worse. Its ok to do when something is truly bad and there are good arguments.

I saw comments like uncanny and "too real" i couldn't not disagree more, it looks like a modern nintendo character, nothing more or less. But no, suddenly everyone is an art director and an expert, though without the ability to actually judge something with real arguments.

Looked like an excellent upgrade to a classic. I have no idea what people expect these days to be honest. Pricing could be argued but if so the new StarFox is far worse i think, and i am not an overall fan of Nintendo as a company.

"I don't like the artstlyle" is a solid argument. It's subjective off course. But if you don't like something, that's just what it is.

Crying like a little baby about modern graphics is the new norm.

I saw so much hate for the new zelda game too.

If this had come out in 2005 or something people would have been excited, celebrating it. Today, noooo, cry like little baby, go to Reddit and start a thread about how you hate it and get 30K likes in a day. wild.

And i agree, how does it impact their lives anyways if other people are enjoying it? That's where the line is drawn?? lol. I think its mainly Gen Z and Millennials. Spoiled fucking brats.

Yeah I hate this so much, ragebaiting and simply being edgy, to the point where good games get shit on for no reason Laughing No it's not merely Gen Z although they have some of the dumbest kids around, when I look up someone they're 30-40 and just write like Gen Z which is even worse, people just completely lost their heads the past years.

Game devs already have a toxic work culture, can't imagine when they see comments about the game they worked on online, to the point where less and less people will be willing to create games, well done gaming community...

I would never want to work in gaming. Hell, i wouldnt even want to release a game for free, just the constant fucking bickering, i know i would hate it + i would get involved in it too Very Happy

KOTOR TSL with my texture mod

i have always seen it more of a cartoony game though, i actually like using a cell shader from reshade, it can look really cool.

sure, but i dont think that was the whole argument for link. i mean its not like Link stands out as an entirely new artstyle in that game. but yes, if you dont like that entire artstyle then its a good argument. i think it looks like their usual style.

This ai hatred is absolutely high school, maybe even dumber! You have to make fun of it or it wont go away. im gonna call "3D-only graphics" 3D-slop from now on Smile

I don't think "slop" will make it through next year, i'll give it max 2 years. its one of those words which will get too repetitive and eventually wont mean shit. overused words dies off quickly.

added what i used. maybe i can share the config once i am happy with it

Is your Redpill crack (?), those screens look utterly jackshit - only rare occasions i would say there is a benefit but this magical glow or crappy ai faces and overlays are abyssmal, not sure how anyone can hype it.

yeah right. this is by far the biggest improvement for graphics that has happened in years. It makes it look so much more consistent too.
I could never go back after trying it now for a few days.

Feels so awesome to be hyped for graphics again, we've been stuck since like 2012 with minor improvements here and there, and some rare few stand-outs.

Going from doing neural rendering taking 15-20 minutes for 1 image (Disco Diffusion) to doing it in real-time is mind blowing.

Ray tracing, path tracing, could not care less about it, its not even close, it doesn't fix the "wax doll" look of characters in any capacity, and its been one of the biggest hurdles for modern graphics. It fixes so much else too, color accuracy for example, it fixes so many annoying and unnatural inconsistencies with 3D.

Also this is just the start too, this will undoubtedly improve x10 in the next few years. I hope to see more models of it, obviously its not fitting for anything anime-like.

I hope they release a version for 2D games, that could be a fantastic implementation of this since 2D is so much cheaper. Quite amazed how it understands metal and shadows in Baldur's Gate 2, looks so much better.

KOTOR does not support DLSS natively, does it? So how do you plug in DLSS 5 then if the "base layer" isn't there? Would that mean you can use it for any (old) game, regardless of general DLSS support?

DLSS 5 Feeder Description:

DLSS 5 neural rendering in games that ship without any DLSS — D3D11, D3D12, Vulkan, OpenGL, 32-bit, even DirectX 10 and DirectX 9.

DLSS 5's neural-rendering add-on only works by hooking a game's own DLSS calls. A game that has no DLSS never makes those calls, so the add-on sits idle. DLSS5-Feeder makes the calls itself. It builds a complete DLSS DLAA "contract" out of what ReShade already has — the frame being processed, the depth buffer, and estimated optical-flow motion vectors — runs a genuine DLSS evaluate, lets the DLSS 5 neural-rendering add-on hook into that evaluate, and copies the neural result back into the frame. All inside ReShade's effect chain.

yes, i use it for baldur's gate 2 too. you can use it for movies too Very Happy (see WrongID's reply).

I do hate looking up what to use per game though, so i just tell Codex to look up the best and most recent method, and it will install everything, fix .ini's and .cfg files, make sure HDR looks great with my TV etc.

so much better. of course, would've been ever better if the game was made with it in mind so the artists could have used on/off to see if the result was like they intended.
