PlayStation has announced Physint, a major new project with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, to "reinvent" the genre he is most famous for.
This new "next-generation action espionage game" will be a fresh, original IP - as Metal Gear Solid remains owned by Konami - and will also be a movie as well.

Death stranding 2 only sold 2,5 million copies. Also think it's not as good as the first one (despite better reviews, perhaps cause it's more accesible).
Perhaps Sony just wasn't convinced by what Kojima is doing now.
It's fine i guess, at least we wil have a day one PC release now.

Death stranding 2 was definitely worse than 1. But thats no reason to give him tge boot. He has made a bunch of hightly popular games, and this being a spy game. Its gonna sell. But it doesnt have a woman with hariry buttocks front and center, or a faggot protagonist, so out it is.
I must say its quite curious to see someone defending sony in this day and age.
DS2 is a (much) better game but DS1 had all the hype and it kept selling threw the years.
Hell no, DS1 was original, immersive. It was like nothing else and fresh. Also released during peak Ubi open world shit, that helps. DS2 is just death stranding truck simulator. More of the same. Easy as fuck with no tension or challenge whatsoever. Combat also sucks, just shoot everything down and those ridiculous slomo animations after every knowdown. Like the BT area's. The first DS2 bt mission is kill them of them with blood grenade..It's just a grind. While in DS1 BT's started out misterious, scary and weird and you could do shit about them, it's so much more immersive. DS2 is just your avarage open world game. And it brings nothing new compared to part 1 that stands out or keep things fresh.
That's not the point, for sure DS2 is more polished. But DS1 was, going in fresh, the better experience. The amount of creativity that Kojima put in one game is mindblowing. It makes more sense as a game. It's memorable. You start in this strange situation and things unfold, slowely. Starting out you can't even walk with your shit falling all the time. The feeling of isolation. Exploring the strange world at a slow pace It was so unlike anything else.
DS2 is as I said just death stranding truck simulator. Just do all the stuff again, get stronk asap. Connect the world and kill villain. End game. And it's all so light hearted. It completely misses the ambiance of part 1.
Bloomberg reports on why PlayStation ended its partnership with Hideo Kojima for Physint:
- Game was missing deadlines
- Development was 'well over budget' despite being years from release
- Death Stranding 1 & 2 performance missed revenue targets
- PlayStation wasn't happy that they couldn't keep the games exclusive
- Sony executives who were close to Kojima left the company a while ago
