yeah, in that particular scene it looks more like sunset... i've played a few hours and its nothing i've ever even taken notice of.. so its like always, if you try you can find a scene somewhere where its off.
Controls feels floaty and laggy (X One controller), anyone with the same issues/feeling? Other than that it is a good remake. Haven't encountered any bugs yet. I've played maybe 4h and not having to log in to Ubisoft account or anything is a blast. It is refreshing that Ubi game can work like that
It is my first pirated game in ~20 years and I feel good about it as I will never buy Ubi game ever again and I really wanted to try this remake
I've finished the game (friend's account) with Xbox x controller and it was perfect. No delay, no lag, it was super responsive. Voices38 cracks are not perfect though. Btw controller plus Tv ftw.
tried it for a bit and apart from the nice visual upgrade its kinda janky and feels floaty. i liked the original but it isnt the best ac game and def wouldnt replay it just for the graphics
Took me ~50h to finish it (all side missions and fully upgraded ship, but not clearing the map nor challenges).
It is a great remake, exactly how I remembered it looked and played like (which I know is not true)
I forgot how good the story was, and how overall sad it is. It would make great 15-20h linear game instead of this open world approach which dilutes the experience as from one great story part to another you get 10h of open world "experience" and it just doesn't hit as hard as it could.
Also epilogue of the game is like huge WTF. I had to google what happened between ending and epilogue, and it is a shame that in resynced they didn't include some slides/scenes/whatever to explain what happened to Edward after his return to London.
It was a nice trip down the memory lane so good job Ubisoft for not fucking this one up
This remake is better than I thought. The movement control of Edward feels a little bit "laggy" (or floaty as stefan7 wrote) but it's not a big deal for me.
One thing that does annoy me, at least a little, is that the voice of Edward sounds like the voice actor recorded it while sitting in a big cardboard box. All NPC voices sound just fine.
Fantastic game imo. Never played the original. Controls arent any worse than what i am used to, Witcher 3 feels more sluggish, Gothic 2 - way worse, Gothic remake - probably around the same?
For fun i am adding RPG elements to it. So far enemies gives XP and you can level strength which makes you do more damage. So its just in proof of concept stage. Not sure i will finish it, a fun experiment, i was thinking it would be cool if it worked more like the Gothic games, though it would be quite a substantial change and likely hard to balance.
Not entirely sure on Ego yet, but this game is wrapped up.
Visually it looks fantastic with the character models in particular receiving a huge uplift from the original game although the design and art direction sometimes suffer, the waiting segments fast-forwarding until the mission starts comes across as a bit off and some of the cutscenes are less striking, Blackbeard ones as a notable example.
Gameplay drops the level scaling and having to keep matched with that which is a fine change from Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Shadows now but the enemies retain some of the silly abilities like stunning kicks and what not, but from what I remember the heavy types and the faster agile types were already a bit of an annoyance in Black Flag.
Also less hitpoint bloat though combat takes a while to adjust to and the hitpoints do come back when the game wants to attempt boss fights, less fail conditions and overall the game feels a lot easier than before.
What else is there to be said, the added scenes work for the most part but the Maynard arc feels entirely out of place at least for where it pops up in the story, and as started with I still have no clue as to Ego and this new attempt to reboot the way the games are presented.
Think that is all, visually an amazing graphical showcase but not without its flaws and the usual gameplay and combat drawbacks that these games have had for a while now.
