With single player mode this becomes really interesting to me now.
yeah i played the during one of the free weekends, it was a decent enough game although very slow paced.. but I couldn't stomach buying it when it's tethered to the servers. i never met a single person while playing the free weekend either
it's gonna be great if we get mods as a result of this
Graphics are really outdated, old. Gameplay is okish, just another survivor nothing spectacular. Dune lore is kinda there but was expecting something more focused towards the story. Also this is one of the heaviest games on my cpu and gpu. Crimson desert isn't even comparable to this.
Make sure your firewall isn't blocking. That was the issue with me. I use Eset and learning mode so I automatically denied internet access, which was not the wise decision
just playing this a bit, there's so much jank in every aspect of this game but I have to say i enjoy the combat.. mostly because it's unconventional. right now i'm a trooper that abuses levitation tricks both for getting into position and abusing the poor AI with the same (and abusing myself every time I get caught in my own field)
I would say that except for the game world itself, this game is incredibly rough.. from the AI being psychic and turning/shooting instantly (although ironically this makes the AI somewhat competent), to the UI being unintuitive, to the animations not blending between everything.
I turned most of the custom settings to survival, with shields being 1.2x stronger and water production down to 1.5x, heat exposure up to 1.5x, backpack only drop.. despite the jank the combat is pretty deadly and i actually need to approach things properly
i bought it too when it was 50% off.. unsure why since i dont even like their Conan either haha. Might refund. This company is good with updates though.

i still like it a decent amount, it's just a bit of a diamond in the rough I like flying around and dueling with energy shields
