how does it work though, it's real time produced (for whatever reason), or they just decided to not check the images it produced? more like human slop than AI slop if so...
would love to see the prompts, likely they are just the menu description and it does what its told - mix it all together in an intelligent way (puts in the glass). the person responsible must have zero knowledge how generative images and prompting works, maybe the whole thing was vibe coded and they hoped for the best |
Probably using some very old free models. To me it looks like ca 2022 models. Probably fed the keywords and/or titles and of course, nobody looked at any result.

LLM is not AI.
Nor is Stable Diffusion or Dall-E.

I still see it the way we called the 2 wheeled riding things hoverboards. They are not hoverboards, but the term also came to mean those.
Any Ai is not 'AI' as it use to mean in the sci-fi unrealized way (like hoverboards are not). But its come to also mean..whatever...they are.
So BOTH are true:
LLM is not AI.
AI is LLM (and flux, dall-e, krea2, alphafold, etc).
So these two statements can both be true:
“An LLM isn’t AI in the sci-fi sense.”
“An LLM is a type of what we now call AI.”
Accepting the newer meaning doesn’t mean claiming the technology fulfills the older one. The disagreement is often about which meaning of “AI” someone is using.
Now I DO agree using the two words "artificial" and "intelligence" to coin/define what the new thing is was a bad choice.
But it is unequivocally a new definition of what those terms mean.
Like in a dictionary, it will have a new number under the word to denote other meanings like 'fly' can mean the insect, or the verb act, (or other things like a zipper).
Now AI has sub numbers of definitions too: the independently thinking machine with its own thoughts and agency, or generative pachinko machines.

LLM is not AI in any meaning, because it’s not intelligent and has no intelligence. You might want to change the meaning of “intelligence” to “shit that impresses vurt”, but I don’t.

I agree its a shit choice of words, but its the words they chose and no going back now, it stuck. No amount of me (or you) saying its not the traditional definition of it, means it will not forever be a new definition that also does not fit either word its defined by. Words acquire accepted meanings beyond their literal descriptions.
Much like:
Tinfoil is not tin
Pencil Lead is not lead
Steamrollers do not run on steam
A Blockbuster film is not on film
(you have a purely digital file on a Red Cinema camera drive, and called a 'flim roll' by editors)
LLM is not AI. but it will forever be called that.

BTW, still remember when relatively simplistic if statements were being called "AI" in video games. Remember the "AI" in FEAR? This too shall pass.

Public review is ongoing. I assume everything will turn out to be correct.
The bottleneck is the humans, the proofs are coming faster so the peer reviews can only play catch up. Pretty sure they solved alot more problems already but aren't telling us.

This is pretty standard regardless of AI or not. There are some human proofs that waited a decade to be 'got around to' to peer test and review.
Mathematicians and scientists divide their time among their own research, teaching, and checking other people’s work. (the last the smallest slice of the pie.)
Results wait months or more for review, and some can take years. as establishing confidence in a difficult mathematical proof can take years.
Separately, published work can go largely unnoticed until someone working on a related problem discovers it and realizes its significance. Someone looking for other papers on a thing he is working on, stumbles on it and realizes "I need to check this, it may solve a problem I have been looking to answer".
So Ai did add to the pile. But the pile of backlog was already there, and bigger than what AI added to start with.
Edit: Also “Waiting for expert scrutiny" and "waiting for peer review" are not synonymous. Close but not the same. Some sites reporting on it use them interchangeably. Seen some that state it both ways in the same paragraph.
That distinction matters. In academic usage, peer review usually is the formal review process for publication. (This is the one that slows it down, regardless if AI made it)

This hole thing is fucking scary and awesome. The speed. The impact. The future.
On a similar note. Just was at a conference today. One key speaker was throwing out numbers that they have like 100.000+ Agentic AI running at the firm. It WAS a worldwide known firm though and he did mention, that there might be many of those Agentic AI that was used for a single purpose and thus is no longer running.
I am deffo an old boomer(ish) and have missed the wagon or ignored this. Chatbots are (somewhat) lame and image gen are also lame.
I need to change my attitude towards this.

@Photish
Oh yea, chatbots and image gen is just a fraction of a percent of "AI" types. they are just the most popular and talked about because they are the ones joe public can/will use.
Medical imaging, AI drug discovery, Precision agriculture, Fraud and risk detection, Weather and climate modeling, Supply chain logistics, AlphaFold, GNoME, Trucking logistics, medical preventative treatment/diagnostics.
Name a field of science, and there is either a huge AI for it already, or other models trained to assist in it.
My friend that does...(fuck cant remember the name, its not microbiologist but something close to that. Screwing with bacteria genetics to make useful 'tools') says the one they use speeds up trail and error, and theoretical generational probability before tests by a LOT.
List goes on and on...and on.
and those are also just a tip also of the iceburg like LLM and ImageGen is.
Edit: It's 'synthetic biologist/microbial geneticist'! I always forget. Had to go f'ing scroll 2 months of discord channel to find it.

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/china-ai-bubble-has-already-burst-2026-10-26/
| Quote: | In China, the AI bubble has already burst
Oct 26 (Reuters) - While global tech stocks teeter, in China they have already crashed as lofty valuations collapse under worries about AI demand and curbs on Chinese exports.
The meltdown, tanking the mainland STAR50 index (.STAR50), opens new tab of AI and semiconductor leaders by 40% in less than four months and vaporising some $480 billion in market value, is an ill omen for wobbly world markets and a dampener on China's efforts at encouraging its savers into stocks to fund the AI boom.

Hexen wasn't really a RPG, it had no leveling, no character building.
This is a turn based RPG with levels, skills, loot, it will have more in common with Might and Magic than something like Hexen. But then again, i have no idea if its going to reach a complete state but having fun so far.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
