Of course it tastes good. It's fucking LOADED with fat!

That being said, I do like to take a MM shake once in a while. I take ISOPURE and Optimum Nutrition protein shakes. Very low fat and ISOPURE has 0 carbs which I find useful right now.

Don't forget the animal stack! I've cut down on consumption as I'm cutting for summer but I used to take about 300g of protein a day through 'regular' foods and protein supplements. Lots more cardio now, too.

is it? fucking hell... man what should i replace it with that has no fat but a good amount of protein??? damn it now i am pissed

I can't think of any protein shake that has more fat...Do they not publish the nutritional content on the packages in Canadaland? I suppose if you're really small and are trying to bulk, that would be one way to do it, but chances are you'll put on a good amount of fat while doing so. Try ISOPURE (if you've got the money, they're not cheap) or ISS Nutrution (their m3 protein is also expensive but very good tasting and doesn't have much fat) or the ol' standby "optimum nutrition" which tastes pretty good.

Different amounts of protein work for different people. With proper water intake, higher amounts of protein aren't going to kill your kidneys.

I used to drink this shit 3 times a day. Back then I had a very sick schedule, I worked out 4 times a week and once a week I swum, intensly.

You know what? I only got fatter....

It's total BS don't use it, as has been said It's full of fat...

These days I follow a dieet and I eat the right things in the right amount, it costs me alot more effort and money but the results are there I look alot better. I recommend for everyone who is working out to drop that shit, It's all BS. Get yourself a good healthy food schedule. It's not needed at all if you eat well and the right type of foods, not only that..... but the results with normal food is alot better.

Btw your body only absorbs so much protienes a day and if you take more than that it gets stored as fat am I right on this?

Speaking from my experiences...

Sounds about right. I just started working out 3-4 times a week and im not going to use any of that, its only going to make me "big" in a more fat way, so no protein for Smile

Sort of right.

Any protein in excess of what your body needs (for muscle building, hormones, enzymes etc) will be converted to carbohydrates and a nitrogen waste product (that yellow stuff in your pee Wink). Depending on how much other carbs/fats you've eaten that day will determine if you actually need to metabolize the extra carbohydrates or store them as fat.

The more protein you eat, the more that has to be converted -- this also means that your liver has to do much more work to de-aminate all the amino acids, and then the kidneys have to work harder to eliminate all the waste products. So excessive protein intake is definetely not good for these organs.

What protein shakes do you guys use? of course the ones who dont use them just press the back button!

I used N-large 2 Strawberry Very Happy (51G! per serving!)

From what, 100 g? Because thats not particularly high.

Syco, the majority of protein powders do contain a high concentration of amino acids too.

yeah, but they have other shit you body may or may not need. Just straight amino acid pills is what I use.

but then again wrong section.

Protein before sleep has a very good effect since you build muscles while you sleep (working out breaks down the muscles).

yes so if you train alot you wont have any muscles left.

If you train excessively of course you will damage the muscles, but they won't disintergrate. Razz Cool

Working out breaks down the muscles, yes. Rest and proper nutrition gives your muscles both time and nutrients to rebuild.

yeah, but u have to rest.

What u do is the 3 day thing.
Day 1 - Arms, shoulders and chest + cardio...always do cardio, best way to tone your body...for me atleast ie jumping jacks, running on the spot, shadow fighting etc

Day 2 - Stomach (all areas, lower and sides included, not just upper). Easy enough to do right. You do crunches (not sit ups, sit ups fuck your back hard and dont do shit). Normal crunches and side crunches and leg lifts for your lower abs.

Day 3 - Legs ie power lifting, toning...a combination of both is good.

Having a ton of muscle isnt good. Its better to have a normal amount of muscle for your body type but be hard as a rock and ripped.
Women prefer a guy who's toned as oppose to some dude with muscles around his lips...

If you want to grow serious muscle you need to lift weights and do sets that totally destroy. Let's say you do the chest press, you do a set of 3x 10 and you do it like this;

12345678910 WHOOW, no fucking sweat...

Then you need to get on up, go to the locker room, get dressed and get the fuck home coz you ain't getting no muscle at all.

If you do a set of 3x10 on the chest press and you want to get a big chest this is how it should go;

123..4..5....6.....7....8........9.........10 and you need to be crushed at the end.

You need to put alot of stress on your muscles, you need to tear them as has been said. When you train your muscles on monday and tuesday they are sore, that means that you've totally destroyed that muscle group. It's done more than it CAN basically, more than it's capacity and it has little tears in it. This is what you want to achieve when you want to grow, you need to fuck your muslces, tear them up and fuck them good. And when that has been done you need to rest that muscle group for atleast 48 hours, with sufficient amount of sleep and good food. They regenerate then, become larger and stronger. This is how you grow muscles.

So baiscally what you need to do you need to do sets which really require alot of concentration and strength. I see alot of guys doing exercises in the gym, that really have no point.... they fuck with the chest press for 15 minutes, talk to other fags, and really just fuck around they stop serious people like me from training....

Before you really get serious with fitness and so on I really recommend you talk to some experts, because you can really damage yourself if you don't do it the right way. It's a very serious and dangerous sport it can be REALLY bad for your body if you don't know how to handle it. Getting big is not about pumping weights in the gym, it's knowing the right techniques, eating well, resting enough, etc etc. Alot of shit comes to play when you seriously think about growing muscle.

I agree with Syco that definition is important and to get that you need to do cardio.

There are too types of bodies, you got people that look BUFFED and you have people that look ATHLETIC, and the people that look athletic alwasys look better imo. For example.... 2 weeks ago me and my friend saw this guy in the gym, hew as fucking large. Somewhere in his 30s and about 100+ kilo's he looked like a titan. Sick chest, sick arms, sick back. We were like omfg.... and I didn't say damn...... I would love to have that body. I was thinking,... something is just not right.... then my friend said it; It doesn't look athletic.

You can be big and buff and have big arms and a big chest but if you see no lines... if there is no definition in that that's pretty lame..... What I also see is an athletic person has a well trained stomach, good abs. While buff people usually don't have t hem and if they do it's usually abs that are made by machines and they have a very different look, I don't like them tbh.

When I do cardio I walk, that's right I walk 6.5 - 6.9 kmph quite slow, 90 minutes, I do it 3, 4 times a week. Why do I walk instead of run? Because when you are around 20 your heartbeat needs to be 130 or around it to lose fat. When you're hart beat is around 130 (for ppl around 20 years) your body is in a fase to burn fat. Not saying you burn fat instantly, you burn fat approximatley after 45 minutes, because fat is the very last thing your body burns, first it burns carbohydrates and some other shit and at the very end it burns fat so that's why I go 90 minutes. I normally used to run around 11, 12 kmph, that's a very good pase, but your heartbeat is then around (atleast mine was) between 150 - 160 and then you're not really burning fat you're training your condition, your stamina and so on and to get definition you need to lose fat.

Yeah, exactly.

Alot of people think you just go into the gym or get some weights and start lifting.
You have to warm up for atleast 20 minutes (I do an hour of warmup + cardio) to a) stretch your muscles out b) increase your heart rate so you can burn fat and develop muscle.

And your muscles have memory right. When I was training martial arts, like 8+ hours a day, I developed the body I have now. Something about the same routine for a while makes your body take its actual shape. I cant gain or lose weight and Im ripped and hardly work out...mind u, I trained hard for a very long time.

Your muscles do have a memory but that kinda works against you. I have two big schedules and I switch them every 2 weeks because your muscles get used to certain type of workouts after a time. For example if you benchpress to train your chest 2 times a week, every week for a month your chest muscles get used to it and are less sensitive for uumm... damn how do I say this... my English is not bad but this is something I never talk about in English.... you're muscles are less sensitive towards the exercise you've routined. So it's important to train diverse.

Yeah, its important to switch up the way your work out so your body doesnt get accustomed to one routine.

Still, they do have memory. I workout 2 or 3 (sometimes four) times a week for an hour or 2 and maintain my body...and its not like I eat healthy or have a healthly lifestyle.

Well you don't need to eat/live healthy per se to look good. It depends what you're satisfied with, if you want this though you'll haveto go with the full package lol;

That's an olympic athlete btw, world champion in what he does even, lol.... so you'd probably need even more than that. Heh..
