u probably still haven't understood the meaning of the antistarforce campaign... and u probably don't understand why there's no tages boycotting running.

Thats the same shit Starforce tells you. Even 1:1 copies are possible today.

Tages is a protection based on DPM technics and and Twinsectors. The only difference for making a 1:1 backup to SF is that TAGES needs the data in the twinsectors too not just the time it reads from it. So all you need to do is:

1. Read the DVD (forward) and create an image (no need for RAW or Sub Channel Data)
2. Create a DPM For the disc.
3. Read the DVD again (backward) and save the image too.
4. Compare the 2 images and extract (Hexworkshop) the different sectors adter sector 16 of Disc (usaly its like 2 or 3 times an area of 50 Sectors)
5. Test image 1 (usaly it doesnt work tho) then test image 2 (usaly doesnt work either) and then mix them. Create a 3rd image (copy of image 1) and blockcopy the data from the different sector areas backward into the dvd.
6. Burn the image and install a program that can emulate RMPS (DT4 f.e.)

programs u need:
Alcohol to create proper DPM Data, Virtual CD7 or any other program that is able to read a CD/DVD backward (old public tages tools f.e.).

PS:
If your good enough check the first 20 sectors of the DVD with winhex and pick the sectors TAGES reads forward and backward to get data (they are encrypted saved there ). With that you dont need to read the whole DVD backward which can take a while.

If you know how to work with IDA run game with it and hook + log the TAGES Apis. With that you can get the Sectors to read too. Be sure not to hook FAKES. TAGES uses them to hide their APIS. Good Luck.

About Reversing and creating a crack: Dont count on it that much TAGES is great against crackers and time kills you as in some cases you need to finish the game to get all data you need for the exe.

There are 4 kinds of TAGES:
1. TAGES for VB or Delphi coded stuff which is easy to crack at the moment. (used twice with Ataris Act of War Addon (Delphi) and Ski Racing 2006 (Delphi)
2. TAGES basic (doable too but usaly not used in Games)
3. TAGES API (Fahrenheit, Asterix XXL 2) - to time intensive to crack in my eyes
4. TAGES API + CAP (Desperados 2, Echo, Panzer Elite Action) - not much more time intensive as you only need to finish the game as difference to 3.

TETRIS is always possible and it cant be blacklisted effective as its a very rare developed and easy updated tool but ...

I've never heard about Tages, before it was mentioned a few days ago. Does it actually do something to your system (like starforce) or is it just hard to crack?

Drivers get installed like every protection does sure but they are not ring0 (kernel based). Only sf uses ring 0 based drivers which is the risk they take to avoid ring0 debugging (softice) of it as only 1 ring0 app can run. Thats the risk in SF nothing else. Everything else is user invented stuff but ring0 gives you the opportunity to execute a virus during sf check. Thats all bad with SF drivers.
I think that short moment of ring0 active is not a high risk for virus stuff as usaly all install antivirus stuff and firewalls. With such stuff you are kinda save against a virus attack during the 10 seconds to max 60 seconds of sf checks.

TAGES/SECU/SAFEDISC/LASERLOK/ALL DONGLES/... use ring3 drivers.

Desperados 2 is the sequel of the successful wild west title “Desperados – Wanted Dead or Alive”. The gameplay is based on its predecessor but with brand new tactical possibilities in a beautiful 3D environment. The player is able to switch from an isometric view to a third person view whenever he wants, for example for duels, brawls and shoot-outs. There will be a great variety of setting for example dusty canyons, ghost towns, Indian villages and forts creating a breathtaking atmosphere. Take on the role of up to 6 heroes including the famous bounty hunter John Cooper and experience in a thrilling story with surprising turns.

Only if you like "just another shooter game"... it doesn't have the tactical stuff from the first game

LOL, dude, did you bother reading or even just looking at some screens? It has both Tactical and FPS gameplay. Tacitcal is a bit more dominant. I tried the demo earlier and its brilliant! Graphics are super nice Smile Gotta have a good rig to have all features maxed and res upto 1280x1024. Gameplay is just like the first game but now much nicer with the FPS feature which is not crappy at all. The models are relatively highpoly and textures look damn good. I also must say the 3D didn't ruin the game in tactical mode. Its definately what the next Commandos game should've been ! Sad

I played the demo, it was all about shooting, as the AI was too stupid to do anything. I beat most of the level in the demo, by just standing in one place, shoot an enemy, then slowly the other enemies came closer, and then when they where close enough, I shot them one by one

... and this was on the *cough* hard *cough* setting, I can't imagine easier be any easier

It not my stuff its a quotation of ^daemon^ from #unpacking on efnet.

Honor to the guy who deserves it.

About making an Image - Not me Smile i wont buy Virtual CD for it. The game is crap in my eyes. Atari Team developed it for more then 3 years and then something that kinda misses everything cool from the old Desperados game Sad. Im dissapointed and my box will be gone in 6d 04h 06m on ebay.com. Money is better invested in TES 4 - Oblivion which is my next target to buy.
