Several german game magazines report, that valve wants licenses for playing their games on lans and tournaments. For now its free, but guess whats coming in a few months.
And they have some rules for getting a license:
- Tournament/lan must be held 90 days after getting the license
- Tournament/lan staff is responsible and liable, to check for warez and warez exchange
- Tournament/lan staff can only held 4 tournaments/lan in one year.
- Tournament/lan license is only for max 100 contestant < (What is with 5on5?)
- Tournament/lan license is max for 3 days in a row
I laughed as I read this.
