Yea but i'm sure as some of those comments said, it's a fake. I can't see sony allowing anyone to get near the eject button knowing that it's not on a blu-ray disc.

You take information on the internet in the context it's presented.
Does that website look like it would spread rumours with no basis in truth? No it doesn't.
Of course it could be false, but until you have information to the contrary then you can assume it's correct.

Yes you can. Different people can assume different things. Don't try and tell me what people can and can't do.
There is much information on the internet, some of it true, some of it false. But you can't just discount all the information just because 'it's on the internet'. You have to weigh up in your own mind the potential possibilities of new information, just like you have to do in real life too.
A statement posted on a reputable website is like a statement made by a reputable person. It's more likely to be true then not, but of course thats no guarantee. The only way you can be absolutely certain of something is by examining the evidence yourself, and how often does that happen? Very rarely.
What proof do you need? Footage of the presentation, showing the guy taking the DVD out while sony are saying it's Blue-ray footage? Oh wait that could be faked...

The laptops weren't being monitored or anything (you can tell in those pics).
What would have stopped the guy from planting his own dvdr and making a joke?

Heh. Security? There's lots of security at sony's stuffs. They don't want people to steal anything. Honestly, i think sony screwed up. I don't think someone else is responsible. Sony fucked up bitch time.

Well even so i think they'd stop people from stealing the blu-ray disc. But there's nothin to say that the demop was even on that laptop either. I bet they had several at the show :/

There was a side by side demonstration on the AR150G Vaio laptops of House of Flying Daggers, clearly indicated by a placard. One was running a Blu-ray version, the other was a DVD sample.
quote:
"The premium model comes bundled with one of the first Blu-ray Disc (BD) movies, House of Flying Daggers, which Sony showed side-by-side tonight, along with the DVD version." |
When i was referrin to the comments (in my first post) I was referrin to those on the joystiq site where I read it.

Who cares what the medium was. It still could have been HD content on the disk. And probably was HD content. (Why would they show regular DVD content?) In either link/article there was no mention that sony said it was a Blueray Disk, just HD content. It would just be like a 20 minute sample of Blueray HD on a DVDR.

Anyone defending this story is a complete dolt. And the multiple sources? Wrong. It's all the same source, because they all present the same information as their own (using the same pictures). The only photo is that of a bootleg "House of Flying Daggers" DVD and a Sony laptop, and trying to assume that this story is true shows remarkable ignorance. Don't believe everything you read, it's the fucking internet, and noone presents credible information on this story to begin with.

If you're referring to me I was just stating that unless you have evidence to the contrary you can assume something to be true. It's a personal choice and of course it involves common sense.
It's not as if you should take a Sony fanboi's word as truth either.
