Those folks need to start specifying EXACTLY what region AND version/revision the game is or people will patch NTSC games with PAL SS codes and spanish games with french ss codes etc.

Why is it that when the organised groups are too slow to react to new things all these weirdos crawl out of the woodwork to post incomprehensible spanish garble and unsorted files.

Some site needs to start collecting and organising SS files so each user doesnt have to swap back and forth with firmwares.

SniperKilla - Hi.

Quick question: Any chance the Hitachi firmware will get released, since the cat's out of the bag?

There's no reason for TheSpecialist to hold it back, now. I'd rather have it out there so even more people can start working on potential exploits through the various game disc data files. Until now, alll we've had to play with is the Kiosk disc - now every game published has the potential of cracking the data/code barrier with some sort of exploit (I'm thinking of some game using pseudo-DLL files to dynamically load executed code).

and yes..

The.Elder.Scrolls.IV.Oblivion.PROPER.NTSC.XBOX360-SELECT

is Legit..

its been nuked on all sites tho
Reason: not.necessary.just.patch.PI.to.work

that is by far the most pathetic nuke reason i have EVER seen..

the PI rips are terrible images, made from the files, in nero, they are UDF for gods sake, they have 0 chance of working, and everyone has been saying this for days..

yet it still gets nuked.. i love people that know 0 and damage everything

Good job to everyone that made everything possible. We wouldnt be playing 360 games without you!"

umm HELLO WAKE UP 98% of "current" isos are UDF images made from file dumps and are completly worthless... including the burnout release this was released for

UDF images will mount in daemon tools, and show you all the game files through windows..

http://jimmyhack.us/360list.htm

a list of the 5 working scene releases... after being patched with the proper SS..

hopefully we get prepatched ones that arent nuked by moron nukers

But the pi nfos contained this:

Quote:
You can't run these dumps yet, but you will be able to sooner or later Smile
In the mean time you can use our open source extractor tool to check the Contents on your pc
Why do we release full raw dumps, one sentence "Remember Gamecube?" until we know for sure what will be needed to run these things we will be releasing the full raw dumps to you, also a full raw dump is more likely to assist any hackers out there....

Also their releases were always much bigger than the game files contained in their isos. Did this change after their first few releases? I stopped following the 360 release scene after a while.

looks like Lite-on are now going to be used in the 360,

Lite-On IT secures Xbox 360 loader orders

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to Digitimes, Lite-On IT who recently took over BenQ's optical disc drive (ODD) unit have scooped themselves some loader orders with Microsoft for the Xbox 360. Shipments are expected to begin during the third quarter of this year. Looks like some new DVD-ROM's will be installed in future batches of Xbox 360.

Quote:
Following the takeover of BenQ’s optical disc drive (ODD) unit, Lite-On IT has landed loader orders for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 game console with volume shipments slated to start in the third quarter, according to the company.

Lite-On IT inherited the loader orders from BenQ and the company recently gained validation from Microsoft.

BenQ reportedly landed the orders in January via its joint-venture with Philips, Philips BenQ Digital Storage (PBDS).

Before PBDS secured orders from Microsoft, Hitachi LG Data Storage (HLDS) was the sole OEM maker of DVD-ROM drive modules for Xbox 360 consoles

Yeah, that's what it says in the The_Elder_Scrolls_IV_Oblivion_USA_XBOX360-PI nfo. But when I unrared the ISO file and tried to load it in DaemonTools, it shows up with the folder and file structure. So I guess this means it's a UDF file and not going to work.

Argh. I hope that someone figures out a way to convert these ISOs into working raw dumps.

Also, check out this site. There's a forum where people are posting what works and what doesn't. It looks like the first one I"ll be burning is Perfect Dark Zero.

Microsoft has responded to the recent XBox 360 Hacking Announcement. The hack updates the firmware on the optical drive to allow playback of backup copies of games.
Quote:
The core security system has not been broken. However, on some Xbox 360 consoles the authentication protocol between the optical disc drive and the console may be attacked via a complex software and hardware modification which could allow people to play illegally copied and modified games. We continue to invest in the security of the platform and will respond appropriately as unauthorized activity is identified.

Well, that was the response when The Specialist did the original hack on the Hitachi.

SniperKilla, do you think The Specialist might be inclined to release the Hitachi firmware, now that the Toshiba-Samsung firmware is in the wild?
