Maybe someone can help me - I've got Fast Writes enabled in the BIOS but in WinXP the Forceware Control Panel, RivaTuner, and SiSoft Sandra tell me its disabled! Also, when booting into Windows my AGP setting gets set to 4x rather than the max 8x but I can change it by moving the slider in the control panel... why (on both accounts)?!

I needed to update my VIA motherboard drivers before I could enable in the ATI Contral panel (even though it was enabled in BIOS). My AGP setting was also on OFF as well.

The Radeon 9000 series of cards was not designed to run with Fastwrites enabled. Enabeling Fastwrites with those cards will give you more problems; ex. random crashes and lock ups. Don't bother enabeling Fastwrites unless you have a GeForce card or any of the Radeon X series.

That's just bullsht!
I have a Radeon 9600 and i enabled Fastwrite and i don't have any problems at all...!
Weird thing is that all you guys with killer pc's can't get the game to run , but it runs great with everything on High on my crappy AMD Athlon XP 1900+ , 768 SDRAM & Radeon 9600 128 MB... Very Happy

Umm, you maybe lucky, but my 9700 acts as if theres no driver installed with fastwrites properly on. Friends 9800 acts the same way.

increase your Virtual Ram its recommended by EDIOS to get rid of game crashes.

EX. I had my VM at 512 mb and I would get through maybe half a mission and bam crash
but then I changed it to 1024 Mb and i can get through 2-3 missions before I get bored and quit lol with no problems? Just my 2 cents.

Looks like some bs to me. OS should not limit the AGP speed unless the drivers for it really sucks. Still with newer drivers you should get AGP8x.

Afaik only the chipset on the m/b limits AGP and the settings in bios (that are dependant on the chipset anyway so...).

Also about FW. With my 9700 I had to turn fastwrites off or I would get strange crashes and LESS performance mostly.

Mine says the same thing, and I also have the latest chipset drivers. Mine also says the GPU is the only thing that can use Fast Writes. WTF?

oh noo can somebody tell me wtf is wrong with my my vid card?

i installed hitman yesterday reloaded version, everyting was fine bla bla , but at the mission where you have to kill to 2 fellas @ chile my screen began to how do you say that uhmm ...flickering, its like you watching 1917 movie with white stripes in the screen :S its reallly annoying i tried every config for the GFX , low, high, ultra all the same. the gfx are really fine and the game runs smooth but that gay flickering is really fucked up.

i updated my drivers from nvidia site to 84.21 but now i see a new beta was out 2 days ago ForceWare 91.28 (32-bit) but i dont know abotu these beta drivers are they any good?

i hope im not the only one with this problem and someone could give me some advice
thanks in advance

these are my specs:

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.40GHz
Gigabyte GA-8I915PL-G Mobo
GeIL 1 GB DDR
Realtek ALC850 @ Intel 82801FB ICH6 - AC'97 Shitty Audio Controller

I must be blind then. I don't see a answer to my question. I have a x1600 pro(yes its AGP). When I go into bios the option to turn on fast write isn't there. I can however change my AGP aperture size, but thats it.

I applied the demo patch on the full game and can now play the first mission flawlessly Very Happy

It'll probably crash after the demo mission but I'm glad they actually work on this .

that one guy on a hitman forum said it didnt work for him on the full version (demo patch) but then he reinstalled the demo and that works fine for him .... weird

Quote:
The patch didn't work on my full game and I didn't bother to reinstall the demo, but I decided to it anyways just to try... and it work PERFECTLY

last hope for the rest of us is that the full game patch will fix the issues

i only hope is that they just released a quick demo patch that fixes only a few (mostly ATI) cards, the patch for the full game hopefully fixes more, if not all.
but eidos said "a patch is in the works, the demo patch will be released a little bit sooner than the retail patch"

I have an ASUS P4C800 Deluxe mobo and I can't find any fastwrite option in the bios.. tried anyway and installed omega driver with FW=ON option but that only messed things up.. almost no programs would run and game sure as hell didn't Very Happy Have an x800 GT card but I guess my mobo doesn't support FW... :/ Guess I have to wait for the patch.. demo patch is out and game is out now too as of today so patch shouldn't be far behind..
