I have daemon tools 3.47 and was just curious if v4 was neccessary? I mean what is the difference.

Some say yes, some say no. I think it depends on your rig, because I already got several games running with my 3.47 even though the .nfo claimed you need 4.0 for it. *shrug*

Actually 4.0 successfully emulates safedisc 4 without any ext prog

No it doesn't emulate Safedisc 4... it was supposed to but it doesn't.
Or maybe i'm wrong but then can you give me an explanation why you need this SD4 Hider tool to play games like NFS:Most Wanted ?

it can emulate, yes. blacklisting is a whole other story...
