Never scared me before. Are you serious tho? Ive had bad burns on my chest, arc burns and gone out for a good while in the sun and Im not scared from it.
I cant work with a dripping wet tshirt man...impossible. Its so fuckin uncomfortable bending and moving around in. Plus I hate feeling the sweat run off the shirt down my back and stuff....SUCKS
Rather go topless and try to stay away from the arc you know?
We have no circulation in our shop...well, atleast where I am. If your by the docking bay doors, you get a nice cross breeze but if your in the middle of the shop or moving around the shop constantly, its like a fuckin sauna.
It got so hot today I had to grab ice cubes off the coffee truck and wrap them in my bandana that i wear on my head (I HATE welding caps, fuckin stupid and never stay on right).
Thank god Im the boss and I can hide in my office if I get really really hot
I have both an office (well, its me, the other supervisior and the plant manager's office) and a nice big work area/bench. |
Hot sweaty men in dripping wet tight tee-shirts,
wait no shirts,
...shirtless men using power tools.......... and then you have to bring in the ice cubes. What are you trying to do to me. *feels faint* You are evil!!! |
I like how you underlined "big work area/bench" hahaha
I never understood why some women like the whole hard working sweaty thing.
Care to enlighten me?

You know what you need at your shop. A shower. Nothing like a nice long shower on a hot day to cool you off. |
Cold showers dont work anymore btw

A shower won't stop him from being an idiot and welding himself. What's funnier is it probably wasn't even on his chest. He probably welded his leg and he's just trying to sound macho

Why not? I think you are doing something wrong. |
They kinda work, but in all honesty, I hate cold showers. If im guinna shower, its going to be steaming hot.
And funny enough, hot water actually helps welding burns it seems. It hurts like hell when the burn is under the water, but after 5 mins, the pain goes away for a few hours. I dont know why, its weird.

I think I know what you are talking about with hot water and welding burns. How big is it?
I don’t usually burn in the sun I tan If I do have a sun burn I have a really hot bath or shower and it totally helps.. Sometimes a bath is better because the water pressure from the shower hurts my skin. With a bath you can lay down and have a lazy soak with aromatherapy and lots of bubbles. The hot water really hurts at first, but then you get used to it and when you are done the burn doesn’t feel so bad. That is my cure for everything. Hot water. Had a bad day at work, sore back, bad mood- a hot water bath in the dark with a lit candle and an unplugged phone and a nicely rolled joint and life doesn’t seem that bad anymore. Almost as good as a hot, half naked, dripping wet, sweating, hard working, short fused man, ice cubes in hand and background workbench.

The burn I have is my enitre chest and half my abs. Welding burns heal faster but they hurt more than sunburns. The arc from the gun is hotter than the sun. I read that somewhere once, i dunno if I believe it mind. Its damn hot tho.
I cant take baths. Maybe if I had a tv in the bathroom but even still. Its fuckin boring just sitting there. I prefer taking a hot relaxing shower while singing (yes I know its corny) or something you know? Sometimes I make it through every STP song I know (like 10 or so). Not a bad singer in the shower either If only I could reproduce it out of the shower I'd be makin $$$
Mind you, taking a bath with a girlfriend is hot. Then baths are alright. But if im rollin solo, they are too boring.
So short fuse thing does it for eh? Im quite comical at work when I get pissed. I must look like an idiot I freak out and throw shit and use every cuss word in the book the guys get a laugh tho so its ok. I dont mind looking stupid if it makes everyone's day a lil better.
Atleast they know they cant get fired for fuckin up

the surface of the sun is about 6000 degrees, while the atmosphere of the sun is about 1 million degrees.
looks like the arc from the welding gun ranges from 3-24000 degrees
http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2003/EstherDorzin.shtml
so it depends on how you look at it |
I knew that was bs.
I saw or read it somewhere that the arc is hotter than the sun. I knew it was bullshit. I figured the arc was around 5000 degree's.
