I am reading that book right now. They used renal tissue and it was for polio.
The River - Edward Hooper is the book 1999 so its outta date. Nouse then Countered with article "CHAT oral pollio vaccine was not the source of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 group m for humans" I haven't read the paper yet. There is a link for it somewhere.

I dont think the pharmaceutical industry has or could have a cure, or specially not a vaccine for hiv/aids now, the first one to have would sell and make millions. Not to mention in some places (like my country) the medicine (pills that hiv infected people have to take daily) is produced by government controlled labs and its given away for free, so i think no one is really profiting from hiv (atleast here).

Haven't try it for real or anything, but I'm pretty sure I'm quite good with a sword and shield.

Yea 2 of the modern days biggest disease, did you know that both those diseases can be avoided by living a healthy life?
AIDS is the big killer we need to target that first.
