Yeah it would be useless as you would have to install steam and connect to valve to decrypt it, as long as valve uses this method of distribution you can't have an iso rel of any of their games.

half-life 2 vengeance was exaclty the same thing. dvd was encripted. they used the decripted gcf on steam to rebuild the dvd. it was perfect. PERFECT. identical as the original dvd release in stores but without the use of steam.
check that release and the old halflife2 emporio release. all the difference in the world between a rushed release rarring everything and someone with real talent

Wasnt that the same with SiN episodes with some protections still in place? And I think after some levels it told me even though i blocked it in my firewall that blabla connection lost to steam servers, content couldn't be loaded. Hmpf...
Well but I am nearly done leeching it, I'll take a look myself

The advantages of this technique are many. All DirectX9 hardware is supported, and because it does not require that much extra texture memory the performance hit is small even on an ATI 9600 | There ya go. Facts. Please die.

Load Oblivion and try and enable HDR...then get back to me. Also please read here:
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/archive/index.php?t-105046.html
Valve created a "fake" HDR for the ATI cards that didn't support it. So stop trying to make us believe the 9xxx models support HDR...OK??
Can we please get back on topic now? | .....Valve HDR is not FAKE. Dumbass. I have a 7800gt co so oblivion has HDR for me. there is more than one type of HDR. Valves is Shader Model 2. Which the 9600xt has. dumbass. also if someone with a 9xxx series card wants to see beautiful true HDR. Here. Tell this dumbass it works.

ForHim wrote: | It still isn't the HDR that the Nvidia cards support...and that is the HDR I was talking about. So I'm still right. | lol. You said HDR. You didn't specify. Nvidia Cards from 6x up support both sm2.0 and sm3.0 hdr. ATI cards support sm3.0 hdr in only the x1xxx series cards. And you said valve's HDR was fake. And in that context, you are wrong. And even if it is fake (which it isn't) Its a damn good fake. NFS:Most Wanted has an HDR effect thats fake and IMO looks just as good as SM3.0 HDR. With little performance hit. 0M3G4 wrote: | haha i can only laugh at u guys fighting...
my x1900xtx pwns it all! max to the max! | Ha..Haha....HAHA... Someone actually bought an XTX? Why not just get the XT and OC? Cause thats all ATI did. But it is a good card. Congrats.
