I extract the files and folders to X:..\...\steamapps\myuser@whatever.net\Source
click hl2.exe, gives me an error.
"Unable to get Ifilesystem interface from file system factor"
.rar came with no readme, not really sure on the directions if I need to edit/copy some files ect.

make a link to hl2.exe with -steam -game cstrike param's.
interesting to hear about v3 working for some people...
i'll resume my download and see if i can get it working....

btw v3 may work if you take engine.dll from old release. this will mean you can't play on online official servers tho, just other servers with same version

everyone seems to play with V3 using old dll's i think, so find the "old dll's" release and use them so you can play it.

i got the CSS Non-Steam EmporiO Re-Packed bY Ad0o www.ZiminiNet.com.rar file
extracted, edited the files that needed to be edited
runned the edited HL2.exe file, dos window came up saying engine is running ...
but then I get the error: can't open background image 'materials/console/background01.vtf'
any idea what's wrong or where I can find out what's wrong

If you are running a server i think you can just add -nomaster to the shortcut and it will work. I think it said that in the first readme...

ok i got v3 but when i try and connect it says "not logged on"...
No idea why its doing it.
anyone found a fix?

not logged in... you need your steam account e-mail
not suscribed... you need the lan cafe e-mail
cant set mode?... you need to fix the resolution in the short cut
invalid steam ticket ... ? no clue
other problems are self explanitory

This is gay, I always get error 108, and ive done it correctly, only thing i can think of is that the steamapp.cfg is corrupted or different, BTW the rar came with NO STEAMAPP.CFG.

what is up with the weapons...when they are dropped man...they like fly away...lol. But IMO i see it running better than CZ.

To be able to play you must use the V3 but with some v2 dll's cus the V2 is screwed up.
