And it is not as good as I thought. Played it and the story is nothing new. Missions are from really shit and bad to okay, nothing that could beat Freelancer/Starlancer or Freespace.

I wish X3 would have newtonian physics (or at least moddable, those bastards hardlocked it) and a real universe, like I-War (eg. not split into sectors which you have to load to get into the next). I really hope that there is a good-looking space-sim with good physics coming out in the future.

There is a DX9 version already, what do you think they showcased at E3?

Freelancer was crap imho, never liked it, huge fan of freespace though and the x series, I'm gonna withhold judgement on Darkstar as i'm still looking for a game which has the gameplay of Elite, Eve Online is the closest yet but it's not quite there, it has fleet battles against other players though, so it's a class of it's own.

So there is for a fact some actual DX10 cards out there? From what I know, all the effects you saw of Crysis at E3 can be rendered on DX9 cards too. I am certain the game will have DX9 support, otherwise you would have to wait until sometimes in 2007 to actually play it.

syxxpac, call-home-functions are usually easily bypassed by blocking it with your firewall or just modifying your host file. It could be done easily in Doom3 and Quake4, and of course, there were eventually cracks released too.

Gamedevelopers (at least the big ones) always have access to next-next gen hardware prototypes. They have to, since it takes about two years to develop a game.

It's total crap, I assure you (old crappy Alpha Antiterror engine). And it won't be out in september, that's 100%. If you're thinking Jagged Alliance wait for Jagged Alliance 3 which is in production now (uses Silent Storm engine).

yeah, i dont have much hope for ja3d...or really ja3 for that matter...although hopefully strategy first can pull thru their financial woes and deliver at least one title that does justice to the name. at least however the source code for ja2 being released has prompted a swarm of amateur coders to give new life to the game, aka patch 1.13. it is funny how little new games matter once an ancient game is tweaked a bit, now that is quality.
