looks like you made a typo
anyway this two games where unique
just like H-L 1 ( becoz it had NPCs )
and Requiem: Avenging Angel (the first game that used slow mode before Max pain before Fear)

The melee fighting in Riddick was much better implemented than the fighting in condmened.
About condemned and F.E.A.R., F.E.A.R was a godlike fps, while condemned was like his handicapped brother- looks and feels the same and even has it's good points, but still not as great.

If F.E.A.R and Condemned would be merged into one game, then we could have the best FPS ever (After Far Cry).

FEAR was still linear and offered nothing more then good shadows & japanese horror elements. Still it was a great shooter and fun to play though nothing spectacular.

what about the advanced ai, great use of bullet time effect and one of the best stories ive seen in a long time?

The advance AI was seen in both Far Cry and HL2 (though it haltered quite alot in HL2), the bullet time was used in both Max payne games, aswell as in Enter The Matrix and I think Painkiller has it aswell. The story was good though so it was in Call of Chtulhu (Xbox only at that time), and Half Life 1 & 2. The Suffering had a great history aswell.

i agree on every point (tho half-life ai was scripted if remember correctry) but the is that all of those aspects were combined into one game an that makes it uniqe.(tho max payne comes close)

Each one of the factors you've mentioned was created on the best way possible and was innovative at some points. And all the factors together created a most enjoyable FPS.

Think its about taste really, you had 3 massive FPS titles at that time Doom 3, Half Life 2 & Fear (which came a little later). All of those brought something and I must say that Half Life 2 had the most enjoyable single player experience (for me that is)
