Is there any way of burning an ISO of a VCD or SVCD onto a DVD? I'm not talking about converting a VCD or SVCD to DVD, but just burning the ISO onto a DVD medium.

Is it possible to open the .bin file with ISOBuster etc, extract all files and then burn onto the DVD using NERO? Will a dvd player (that can play VCD's or SVCD's) recognise the format if u did so?

Yes, if I understand your question correctly. All you want to do is burn the actual ISO file right? So you burn the DVD as data - simply add the ISO file as a file. Not many standalone DVD players will be able to play the file though. Check your manual to see if it supports opening DVDs in ISO mode and browsing for files etc.

I treat this as a separate question, and the answer is yes and no. First of all, of course you can open the .BIN file with e.g. ISOBuster and then burn it to a DVD using the method above (i.e. as ISO data) but only a few standalones willl be able to read it. If you want to burn it to a DVD for it to be playable as a DVD, you have to fiddle with the source data (i.e. re-encode the audio, edit the SVCD headers etc.). There should be guides on how to do this on www.videohelp.com or www.doom9.org. The process is fairly time-consuming and not really worth it IMO.

EDIT: Sorry for bumping this old thread - didn't see the original posting date until too late!
