5) Saying that it wouldn't sell at all if it didn't include CS is absurd. A sequel to one of the best games of all time would sell no matter what. You see people not buying the Final Fantasy games? Or the Mario games? Zelda? GTA? Or Doom 3 for that matter since it doesn't have a big multiplayer.

6) Many CS players are annoying and immature 13 year olds that wouldn't know a great single player game if it came up and bit them in the ass.

7) Do you know how many people were wowed and excited when HL2 was first announced and shown. That was a year BEFORE CS: Source was even announced.

8 ) I would rather have the BEST Single player experience rather than the best multiplayer experience. I'd rather have them spend all their time working on a great single player. Fuck multiplayer. SP > MP

I see that you like NOLF 1 & 2. I thought NOLF 1 was an excellent game but was disappointed with the second. I thought the humor and the levels weren't as good.

1) True, but CS is and has been the most popular online game for many years. Wink

3) Your personal preference holds no bearing on which one is better.

4) And if you ask non-CS players (like you) of course they're gonna say not CS. Wink

5) Maybe, but I think it would hurt sales. I will definately say CS will HELP the sales in significant amounts.

The game you mean is F.E.A.R. and comes out if all goes well in second quarter 2005 and has a very good engine. I have seen some vids and screenshots and it blows, after half life 2 it will be one of the contenders to the crown of FPS I think.

The company is working on a new game with very good graphics. Don't remember It's name and what engine it uses though but I think there won't be any more nolf games.

I don´t know about you guys but i don´t start playing the multiplayer side of a game entil i have finnished the singleplayer game a few times.

4) I'm not a non-CS player. I've actually played CS for quite a while. Maybe more than a month. And I've enjoyed it. I also bought it for the Xbox (big mistake). Would of kept it but I thought my friends were getting it but they didn't.

5) It might hurt sales but just so slightly. Plus wouldn't people think that if it didn't come with CS: Source it would be made soon after HL2 came out? The man thing I was arguing against was that he said it would not sell at all. That's just absurd.

7) Hey piracy doesn't mean jack. Look how well Doom is selling and every other game that has been pirated. Plus if you pirate HL2 you probably won't be able to play it online.

But if the only online component at the time will be counter strike the game is worth the download, unless you adore counter strike. IF not then it's a single player and single player games are meant to be downloaded Razz

I think that he's referring to the fact that the only reason that he would buy a game is if it was imposible to download for free and play it in its entirety. I'm refferring to te fact that most games that have a multiplayer component make it impossible to download and crack and to play on legit game servers. I have to say that I use to be like him. But alas I grew up and I understand that in not supporting the games that we like we deminish the hopes of more games like it to be released. This is partly the reason that many games nowadays target the consoles which are harder to pirate.

My point: Grow up people and buy the games that you like! The developers deserve our support!

I totally agree. I recall in halflife when I finally encountered the marines. That was the best. They were intelligent, trying to flush me out with tactics.

Yep, i played a shitload of CS, never even touched HL single player. Good point but i still thing with the big hype for HL2 and its A.I. graphics and all a lot of people with play both.

Thats a shame. The single player of Half-Life was very good and award winning in its innovation to the FPS scene and the original multiplayer aspects were very good before counter-strike as well.

Yes that was indeed very stupid, I don't think I wanna watch that file because it contains the ending and many other spoilers.

OMG! HL2 will be available for preload later today. I read that it was supposed to be 2gb out of 3.5gb. That's gonna take some time. Not going to sleep today because I don't wanna see a message that says that the Valve servers are busy.... Just preloaded CSS which was 240mb (?) and it took some time, wonder how long 2gb will take heh.

I just had a look for some info about it and it seems there are rumours that the preload will start today or tomorrow but there will be several weekly preloading sessions so one week textures and audio will be preloaded then the next week something else will be preloaded and so on.

I think I seen the different one than jbrow Sad it just has the dialouge and shit

well if you donwloaded the css leak you have the hl2 folder in with the cs source

css install folder thingie\hl2\resource\closecaption_english.txt

aye maybe there are other files depicting the scenery and such but this one just has dialouge Razz corny ass hell but meh Very Happy should have hired David Mamet for the dialouge n script Razz
