on some missions i get this stuttering problem (RECENTLY STARTED UP!!!) i've used all patches, and unpatched, and i still get stuttering on some missions. i used to be able to play right through the opera house mission fine (sans that one crash error) now it stutters, not sound, everything else. its like it goes from 50 fps straight down to 10 then back up long enough to be noticed.

what mission? if you have a lower range rig dont be surprised to have stutters in the mardi gras mission

did you try the 1.2 patch and used the 1.1 shaders? you have to run the new config.exe to choose shaders version. also try lowering the hw-acceleration of your soundcard
