How is the reloaded release Japanese?
I dont get it. Here is a screenshot from the installer.

Installer text is in English. And it has all those language none of which are Japanese. So why are some people saying it's Japanese so that's why the analogs are reversed?

I think it's just a bad port just like onimusha.
Which doesn't bode well for resident evil 4.
If onimusha was half assed and now devil may cry 3 special edition is half assed, then why would resident evil 4 be any different?
Also I don't believe japanese releases of video games have the analog sticks reversed in comparison to U.S. releases. Japanese consoles always use left analog and right buttons. It doesn't make sense to use right analog and right buttons because it's awkward.
So please enough with the b.s.

nobody said the analogs are reversed because its japanese. that depends on the controller apparently if its a real pc controlelr then the controls are fine. but if its some controller hooked up via adapter or a 360 controller then the analogs are funky. ppl were complaining abiout the other buttons. esc, alt-f4, no enter to accept. shit liek that. now obviously its no ta pc game and theres no enter on ps2. K= jump or X by default on ps2, so naturally that would be accept. and theres no exit game on ps2 for obvious reasons u just shut the coneole off or reset.so its basically just a straight port, no pc standards added. ESC being exit, ENTER being accept etc. lets just pray that capcom doesnt do the same for the US version.

... it is the jap version ..because i own a PC gamepad : Thrustmaster Wireles Dual Trigger with vibes.. that works only at pcs.. and the controlls are still fucked up.. and on another thing.. the vibes aren't even there.. there is no on off at the vibes in the options.. and there are no vibes whatsoever. and as i recall all of the ps2 games have vibes => not a straight port.. they modified it a little..

When you start a game you have a choice between "Gold" and "Yellow". Gold mode is when you die you do not have to use a "Gold Orb" to revive, and when you revive you restart from the point you died. Yellow mode is normal mode were you need a "Gold Orb" to revive and when you revive you restart at the last checkpoint you passed and not were you died.

That's exactly what people are saying. Are we both reading the same thread?
And I have a real pc controller, a saitek p880 with dual analogs. It's messed up. So there goes that theory.

I still don't believe this is not the U.S. version.

Example:
You can use WASD keys in DMC to move, right? <- this is important
Now, run JoytoKey
1. Push "Create" button to make a new configuration, name it
You can see "Button"," Keyboard", "Auto" columns on the right
2. Choose LEFT from the list and double click on it
3. Type "A" in the very first field to assign
Now, every time you press LEFT on your gamepad, the game thinks you actually pressed
"A" button on the keyboard, so your character moves left.
Repeat steps 2-3 for WSD keys
DONE. Minimize JoytoKey and start DMC
You can change other buttons in the game (in options) if you dont like them. You only need JoytoKey for WASD keys
