Hey All

I am having trouble booting the above game that was burnt on a verb dl dvd+r at 1x.

My ps2 has a 'green spot' Infinity mod and supports dl media.

Any help would be appreciated.

I never completed the first game because the voice acting ruined it, but now that they've added the original japanese audio with subs as an option, I wanna play it... I only have one ridisc (ritek) DL dvd+r left though, so I don't wanna waste it. does anyone else have any more info? anyone got it working?

I've only tried dvd9 movies on the ps2 and they work fine, but with swap magic and games, is that even possible?

Sorted!

ok, you MUST set 'book type' to DVD ROM.
CHeck this guide out:

http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/imgburn_for_dummies_page6.html

I also patched it with toxic dl patcher, so you might as well do the same.

Toxic Patcher: http://www.psxforum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27443

1: patch disk
2: set book type in dvddecrypter to DVD-ROM
3: Burn at 2x

Hope all goes well, let me know.

TB

ps: Oh and you must use DVD +R DL's NOT dvd -R DL!

God Bless Strike

thanks for the tip twobells, when I try to change the book type though it says I can only change it on dvd-rw media, not dvd-r... also trying to change the drive doesn't work as it doesn't seem to detect the current mode. should I just go ahead and burn it after patching with the toxic dl patch and see what happens?

Before you patch and burn make sure youa re selecting 'DVD+R DL MEDIA' in dvddecrypter book types.
btw, it might be an idea to upgrade to the latest dvddecrypter [now imgburn] and try again.

ps: towism i just re-read your posts, does swap magic even support dual layer disks???

Well, I googled around to find out, and apparently the toc size of swap magic isn't large enough to support dvd9 backups...I don't think anyone has a solution to this either..so yeah, I guess I'm just out of luck. I'm gonna have to invest in a mod chip or hard drive with HD advance or something.

Ok ive grabbed this, but no Dual layer blanks to burn it yet.

My question is.. is a rip possible? are there loads of stupid intros/movies which nobody watches or indeed wants in a game?.. if so these could possibly be ripped out?

Come on guys, its all in the post history, grab the dvd9 release, pathc it with toxic's dl patch and burn at 2x on a dvd dl writer that can change the book-type to DVD-ROM on a ps2 thats chipped

Oh btw, don't make my stupid mistake and assume that when you change the book type expect to see 'dvd rom' in the disk info of imgburn, it won't show till AFTER you burn your first disk Smile

I have a working DVD5 rip of this game but it's not a valid scene release. It was ripped by a guy called hursty and released on a torrent site. Movies downsampled and all non-english files ripped. It doesn't freeze, some people finished it. I wonder why there's no release by a scene group. Confused
