There seems to be some new info on this release. Hold on to your keyboards, guys. Is this an extended demo?

From Torrentspy forums:

"This is NOT the full game. This is the extended preview version that contains about 6 hours of gameplay. This preview version is sent to reviewers so they can do a larger write up on the game.

Here is IGN's: hxxp://pc.ign.com/articles/716/716069p1.html

You'll see they say it lasts about 6 hours, which is exactly the same as the guys on the NForce forums said this version lasts.

ITS NOT THE FULL GAME. This is basicly just a 6 hour demo."

I'm not ready to throw in the towel so quickly on this release but six hours and 1.57 GB does seem a little lame for years of development. Anyone?

It`s the full game alright, any mention of the leak is being deleted from the 3drealms forums, `m sure if it was merely a preview version, 3drealms would enjoy nothing more than shooting down all the pirates.

As it is full, they are just covering the whole thing up.

You can delete everything with a # infront of it.
They're just comments Smile
And if you dont know what you're doing I would say leave the rest alone and just add the line from the nfo. ^^

I true that, if you read the firt line at ign: "We dive into to preview that stretches far beyond the free release."

but i still think it's the full game, waht reviewer need that part after the credits, no this is the full game and nothing is missing.

Although quite unique, this has to be one of the worst FPS' I have ever played.

Pros:
1. Slick motion capture/models
2. Unique organic weapons
3. Slot and blackjack machines (woot Very Happy )

Cons:
1. Too many gravity / switch / spirit puzzles.
2. Why the fuck force us to play an Indian version of Duck Hunt when we die? Just give us full health and spirit and respawn us. This isn't fucking 1984 Nintendo.
3. Way too much reliance on Native American mythos.
4. The boss fights were unique to the point of being fucking stupid. This goes double for the final boss / sphere / any boss after the first. Utter crap.

Overall..after the first 2 hours or so it just felt like a dull grind. Sure it had some unique squishy weapons, but the rest of it was too focused on flipping switches and manipulating gravity. This is a shooter, not physics class. Ending was a let down as well, as it didn't give us a choice, and picked the morally correct bullshit answer as 95% of games nowadays do. Disappointed. I want that 7 hours of my life back

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

from the 3d realm forums:

George Broussard
3D Realms Staff

"Not even close.

How long did most of you take with the demo? If you took 45 mins or so, then full version will be 10 hours for you.

You can speed run any game. You can exploit any game. I think the deverlopers would have a hard time speed running the game in 4 hours, and they know the solution to every puzzle and they never get stumped on anything. A simple noclip here or there can cut out 20 minutes of gameplay."

and:

Minimum

CPU Speed: Intel Pentium 4 2.0Ghz / AMD Athlon XP 2000+ processor
RAM: 512MB system RAM
Video Card: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 64MB video card with latest manufacturer drivers (see supported chipsets below)
Drive: 8X CD-ROM (standard edition), DVD-ROM (Limited Collector?s Edition)
Hard Drive: 2.2GB of uncompressed free hard drive space
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 16-bit sound card
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP with latest service pack installed
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (included on disc)

but i think the 600mb we are missing is for saves and swap files. Just like titan quest instal ask for 5gb but the game is only 3,18gb big.

you dont have to storm thru it fast. there isnt anythign to explore. everything is mostly corridors with only one way to go. the only times ive had to stop so far are for those radio announcements.

I didnt rush, i listened to all the 5 radio talkings... explored every inch of the game, and it was done in 6h30m

so yep, the game is short
