When is the release date? Hope to see a scene release either clone or cracked,so I can start playing this one. I did get the beta release but would like to try this game in its final version. Hopefully there is some truth to what that 3DRealms guy said about having 10 hours play time!!!!

dont buy into the bullshit. the game is only 10 hrs if you play 1hr a day for 10 days. retail release is the 11th.

there is no truth in his statement i usually take an age to complete fps games this took me 2 sittings, maybe it was so enjoyable but it was v short, i consider myself to be an average gamer, neither breezing thru or taking ages, i think the mechanic where by you cant die definitely reduces the playtime of the game.

no i think u need to learn since this is a beta and a beta is what a product is before its oficially final. this has no final tags whatsoever. so as you claim its not final. then how can it not be beta? just because its not missing scenes and gfx and other shit doesnt mean its not beta.
root = Prey.exe
base/ = game00.pk4, pak000.pk4 -> pak004.pk4, config.spec, gamex86.dll, preyconfig.cfg, preykey
pb/ = pbag.dll, pbags.dll, pbcl.dll, pbcls.dll, pbsv.dll
assets = just tons of folders, most with nothing in
go check these files if you still doubt this is beta.

Doom3 and Quake4 was just brainless shooters but this really shows how good the D3 engie is . The weapons and monsters might not be that special but its still and wondefull experience the whole game thru even if its as short as any other fps . I pre-ordered the limited edition a week ago with all the extra goodies like the soundtrack and the diecast figures , and after finishing it I can honestly say that this will truly be a game I´ll be proud to own |
umm ok, im not really sure, but in what way is it groundbreaking? i mean portals where you can see the exit point was alrdy quake 3 or what ever it is if im not misstaking. and that runing on the wall thingy isnt new either, that was alrdy in alien vs predator. what i know of there is nothing groundbreaking or new with it. but i might be wrong tho.
but im not saying that they are using the stuff nice. witch is always a good thing.

No, a beta would be way before the final code, this version is obviously the final code, it`s got beta tags more than likely because the source of the leak was beta tester, this was more than liely the final gold candidate before the gold master, which would mean that while not retail, it is final, which is what the group who released it said.

plain and simple man. until all of the files are marked final it is still a beta. gold or not, until all of the content on the disc is labled final youre dealing with a beta. all of the content can be in there nothing missing. perhaps some minor changes to a readme or someshit. its still a beta not final. most people are under the assumption that a beta is simply a product around 50% done or so this obviously isnt the case.

Preys portal thechnology is totally new , its true that quake3 had portals that looked the same but thats also the only similarity . In Prey you can stand in the middle of the portal and view both worlds for example . And climbing on the walls is just on of many thing you can do with gravity in Prey but the cool thing with that compared to Alien vs Predetor is that the gravity walkways gives you the same freedom of movement which is pretty cool in many fights , but the real highpoint of Preys gravity is flipping rooms so that every object fly around which is really groundbreaking .

lol theres like 3 or 4 rooms in the whole game where you turn a room upside down and things fall. and its not every object its like a box or two. hardly call that groundbreaking.
