Just some teasers if you guys missed them online.
Link to NEW! in game videos
If you guys check out the E3 interview you will hear that the game runs all the way to the discovery of the "New World" fighting Aztects and stuff. So you can use the gold in the Americas and beef up your armies over in Europe to kill em all!
Sounds and looks simply AWESOME!...at least if ur a hard core Medieval fan Wink

Yeah okay the combat looks good, but why dont they show the strategic map, thats more important to the gameplay then the combat itself is.

I do hope they will get Medieval TW 2 back to the level Medieval TW1 was.

But I doubt it, I read they plan on a maximum of 225 turns and they forgo
actual dates now as if its some fantasy game, forget about actual history.

So it looks like it will be a fluffy good looking combat simulator where they throw in strategic gameplay as an afterthought.

Just like Rome, but that hasn't stopped modders from making it into a game worth playing.
Medieval 2 will probably be just as moddable as Rome.

Thats not really a good thing. Why should we wait for the game to come out just to wait even longer for modders who gets no income to make the game worthy? Its unfair to both the gamer and the modders. Infact today the gaming industry is getting so greedy that they want money off of the fan based mods which the modders are happy to accept for something to show for thier hard work. (Steam plans on doing this with even more mods)

Things like this make the gamer even more screwed over.

yup
original rome balance was really fuxored, and it's a whole new game with the mods (total realism mod mostly)
they should just hire the modders to make the gameplay and have the original company just focus on the technology, which is brilliant as is
kinda like they do with the unreal games
just.. less shitty

yea, rome was surely good and playable without any mods aswell ..unlike some games *cough*thief3*cough*
played almost halfway through (and bought it) before i thought i'd give the mods a try
but the balance and gameplay was so much better with RTR that the original feels so brainless
like the hoplites.. it's like they have laser spikes.. no single person or horse could penetrate them
i literally repelled an attack of an almost full army with all manner of men and horses, with only three full hoplite units and one light cavalry unit

Well its actually a good thing that it's not the other way around. Modders will always be able to change realism and other code-related issues. Graphics is however a totally different thing. So that developers bring you graphics and modders bring you replayability and realism is all good with me.

the newer screenshots look awesome
i just hope they fiddle out the AI
with the old AI, those levels will SUCK
it looks ridiculously stupid to see an army get literally stuck in a gateway
or unable to cross a bridge without the player manually stretching them out to a nice column first so they fit on it

the napoleonic war mod came out recently for rome
i always thought it would be great fun to have a gun battle on that engine
i hope they do a american civil war one aswell, but perhaps wait for medieval2's engine
the AI is too idiotic on rome
